Short paved walk, but steep hills so a little bit of a workout. Flower's we're blooming the whole path.
Walked to the quarry overlook. From the parking lot we used, it was dooownnn a STEEP hill, uuuup a STEEP HILL with some fairly level in between. Not a long walk but a darn good work out! (For me @ least.)
This tucked away walk is nice but not grand. It's a short walk to the lookout which is paved and a footpath which goes into the quarry. The lookout isn't amazing but has some good info about the place and historical accounts. The footpath is better as you get to see how the rock was quarried and there are blocks leftover from when it was active. Overall not really a park with playgrounds and not a long walk. It does have a steep up and down. If you are interested in an old quarry this would be a good spot to visit and it's ok for kids. No bathroom was on site.
This park is not park of the St. Louis County park system, which is a shame.
Parking here is pretty bad. Thankfully, when I am here it is never busy. There is a one lane road that leads to another spot to park, but I would not feal comfortable driving on it. The best park of the park is at the end of this road.
There are some decent spots for some photography.
They could do a better job of blocking off access to the train tracks.
Very unusual park with some challenging terrain. Really beautiful in a strange way.
