Lone Elk Park

“Lone elk is very cool. Our family has been only 3 times now but it's been a few great experiences. You can walk trails get to see the bison, elk, deer and they even have a bird sanctuary. Although I haven't been to see the birds. There is a pretty cool lookout at the beginning of the drive. We went on a trail our last time there and got to see some bison up close. Not too close... just a great place to go and see nature and have a nice picnic. Oh we also found a dog statue I believe was a good cache. We wasn't doing the geo caches but we spotted the dog.. apologies for the camera focus.”

Lakeview Campground and RV Park

Campground Lodging Park

“Once the bridge is updated the noise won't be too bad. The train passes 6 to 8 times every 24 hours and can be pretty intense. Sites could be a bit more level as well. Park is full grass and looks like tent camping is coming soon to the rear of the park. The walking trail around the lake is nice. Covered picnic tables and nice little playground for kids. 1 washer 1 dryer. Hot showers. The camp host was very nice. Firewood sold on site. Take the long way around that is paved. The map is on the website we're you can also make your reservations. Stay in the lower number site away from the tracks and bridge.”

Jacob L Babler Organized Group

Address: Grover, MO 63040, USA

Park

Winter Wonderland STL

Address: 9551 Litzsinger Rd, St. Louis, MO 63124, USA

Park Amusement park

“This is a classic drive-through holiday light display in Tilles Park that is a true St. Louis tradition. You have to enter the park from southbound McKnight Road, and on busy evenings the line of cars can extend all the way back to highway 40. Takes 5-10 minutes to drive through, and many of the lighted figures are decades old, so it's fun to see some of the same lights I saw as a child. Unless you have small children, you can probably hit this every few years and be fine.”

Dardenne Park

Address: 175 Dew Ct, St Peters, MO 63376, USA

Park

“Good little playground better for the walking paths.”

Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fountain

Address: 4181 Broadway Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64111, USA

Park

“It is small and very understated - as many things here in the midwest are - as well serene and very poignant. Moving. As it should be. This is not meant to be grand, but more, a reminder to honor those who have not only fought bravely, but given the ultimate sacrifice. It is elegantly simple, and stacked on levels as if into a hillside, keeping nice site lines with the surrounding area. In a "City of Fountains" those here are quite modern, and listening to them is very relaxing. Low maintenance landscaping helps add an again, simple beauty. Parks and rec, or perhaps volunteers keep it well maintained. It should never go in disrepair. If you know a veteran let them know your appreciation.”

The Eureka Community Garden

Address: 120 City Hall Dr, Eureka, MO 63025, USA

Park

Gov. Daniel Dunklin's Grave State Historic Site

Address: 104 Dunklin Dr, Herculaneum, MO 63048, USA

Park

“Very quite and peaceful grave site of Governor Dunklin and his family. There is handicap parking and a nice walk way that winds down the hill to the site. There are two stone benches to rest at and take in the scenery. Next to the grave site is a spectacular view of the Mississippi River and the state of Illinois. Sometimes you can catch a barge going up the river which is neat to see.”

Washington State Park

Address: 13041 MO-104, DeSoto, MO 63020, USA

Park

“I went at the perfect time in Spring 2023! I was a littler nervous because I've never been here before. But as soon as I parked at my campsite, my face just lit up! I was so happy. The 2 nights/1 day I spent there was epically beautiful! The wind was cool, the sun warm, perfect balance of temperature! I also went exploring the campground and had a great time with my dogs!”

Tails & Trails Dog Park at Queeny Park(membership)

Address: 1675 S Mason Rd, St. Louis, MO 63131, USA

Park

“We absolutely love Queeny Park's Dog Park! This is a large dog park with sides for both small and large dogs. The large dog side is quite large, I'd say maybe 2 or 3 acres in size, so there's plenty of room to run. This dog park does require annual memberships, but they also offer Day passes (the day passes can only be obtained at the Greensfelder Complex, which is only open normal weekday hours, FYI!! You can't get a day pass on the weekend). Vaccinations documentation for your dog is required for either a day pass or a membership, and the park is maintained and very clean. Dog parents have always been extremely fast to break up any dust-ups between dogs, although every once in awhile you come across an oblivious owner who knows nothing. We've been coming to this dog park about 2 years now and we'll continue to go back! Hot tip: there are beautiful trails to walk before or after playtime also.”

Sundermeier RV Park

“Great spot to put your RV for exploring St Charles. What a neat town with very friendly people. My wife loved the little shops. Yes it is true there is airplanes that fly over head and a train on one end but for our two trips here it has been quiet. We like the flat concrete pads and it is located right next to the Katy Trail. So for us it meets our needs for a great weekend.”

Ferd B Lang Park

Address: 1820 Old Lemay Ferry Rd, Arnold, MO 63010, USA

Park

“This is a decent little park. There's a very short paved trail that leads to Ozark dog park, a playground, a couple of dog parks, and a small section of Pomme Creek. The old dirt hiking trail on the other side of the creek has completely overgrown.”

Engelmann Woods Natural Area

Address: 1 St, Adda Rd, Labadie, MO 63055, USA

Park

“Great trail!!! 2 miles from parking lot and back. Dogs not allowed:( Trail is behind metal gate, if you go between signs you're on an animal trail that ends abruptly. Found out the hard way...Oops!!! Takes about an hour round trip if you don't stop. Gorgeous views, lots of wildlife!!!”

Monkey Mountain Sports Complex

Address: 35007 E Old Hwy 40, Grain Valley, MO 64075, USA

“We took our 3 year old grandson there and he really enjoyed it. There were some other young families there as well. There swings, jungle gyms and slides.”

Brookes Park

Address: 420 Brookes Dr, Hazelwood, MO 63042, USA

Park

“The outstanding features of Brookes Park are the historic buildings that have been relocated to the park including the Knobbe House (mid-1800s), the Little Red Schoolhouse (1852 Elm Grove School), and the Utz-Teson House. There is also a pavilion a bar-b-que, picnic areas, a playground, and restrooms. Take care not to fall on the overabundance of sweetgum balls! It appears that they have lost a lot of old growth trees recently. I hope they are able to plant more shade trees.”

Ellisville Parks & Recreation

Address: 225 Kiefer Creek Rd, Ellisville, MO 63021, USA

Park

“Nice pool with fun waterslides. You're not allowed to bring in your own food, but the concession stand is only mildly overpriced. The lifeguards are really whistle-happy.”

Rockford Beach Park

Address: Rockford Beach, House Springs, MO 63051, USA

Park

“This location has a boat ramp and a large boulder dam. Looked like good fishing, didn't get a bite though. Water is deep going south and you need a boat. Going north you can wade quite far along the river.”

Weldon Spring Conservation Area

Address: 6990 S Missouri 94, St Charles, MO 63304, USA

Park

“Beautiful fields of sunflowers, this is towards the end of their harvest but still a sight to see!!! Great day trip for the family for sure and photo op!”

Glen Travis Park

Address: 10 Mayfield Rd, St Peters, MO 63376, USA

Park

“Technically, this park consists solely of the forested area and paved trail, which is part of the Dardenne Greenway, that begins near the Rabbit Run Park parking lot. It does not include the lake/pond north of it--that is private property (there are signs posted noting this). As best as I can tell, this park ends when you exit the forested pin oak swamp area; the native prairie alongside the trail there is part of the city's Jack Gettemeyer Park. The Greenway, however, can connect to the Woodlands Sports Park, as well as Dardenne Park and the city's golf course, both north of Mexico Rd. The aforementioned Rabbit Run is comprised of the baseball fields, basketball court, pavilion, and playground.”

Walther Park

Address: 1551 Veterans Dr, DeSoto, MO 63020, USA

Tot Lot Park

“Fantastic for the toddler set as well as things to do for the sightly older siblings. Love that it's fenced (only 1 entrance to watch kiddos don't run out). We meet other great families there and I've never felt unsafe there. Restrooms, benches, and picnic tables are also available.”

Spanish Village Park
