Mom moved to her new apartment in August. I have long been uncomfortable contemplating how much I did not know about the changes mom is and will be going through at this stage of her life (she is 92 years old). Melissa, the Director of Nursing, when discussing this with me reminded me that Layton Terrace staff was not only there for mom, but was there to support me as well. It has been a great comfort to me that Melissa and Sandi (LT Executive Director) identified this needed change, brought it up gently at the proper time and helped me navigate through the personal and practical layers of this decision. Of course, the care given to our moms/dads is everyone's focus. Also important and maybe overlooked is the important point that staff recognizes and provides needed support to us all as we move with our loved ones through their changes.”
