They were very patient with me being a first time mom I constantly was crying wolf on the phone lol literally the 1st year of my sons life we went to the doc like 2x a month & they never seemed annoyed or frustrated they took every concern I had seriously. “I am a patient of Dr. Ada Steppes and have seen her for psychotherapy (Talk Therapy) for almost a year. I relocated to Nevada from the Washington, DC area a year ago. I have seen exceptional psychologists as well as psychiatrists on and off for more than a decade. Anyone with any significant experience with mental health professionals and who possess sufficient knowledge of the fields knows that choosing a therapist is not a simple process. There must be a genuine connection that garners comfort and trust between the patient and therapist for there to be a successful partnership. I have seen several therapists for one visit and never returned because I knew they were not suited for me. It was clear to me half way into our first session that Dr. Steppes was someone I could not only relate but felt comfortable enough to trust and confide in without reservations. In addition, she is extremely adept at her craft. And as a well-educated and learned person myself, it also didn’t hurt that Dr. Steppes is a very knowledgeable, cultured and sophisticated person who I felt at ease conversing with. Yet she seamlessly is able to relate to all her patients. I once observed a tattooed biker with a patch on his multi-patched leather jacket that I and many in society consider a symbol of racial hatred and bigotry leave her office just before my appointment. I couldn’t resist inquiring about what she thought of the cognitive dissonance or contradiction of that patch and the patient’s choice of her as his therapist. She was genuinely surprised to learn that the specific patch was even on the patient’s jacket who she had been seeing as a patient for an extensive period. This was yet another clear example to me that Dr. Steppes focuses on the patient and his or her facial expressions, feelings, emotions, etc. and not on their outside appearance or attire. Thus, she is always encouraging and non-judgmental. I would highly recommend Dr. Steppes to anyone in need of psychotherapy.”
