There are 2 ways to virgina city FYI. A fun, slightly dangerous and very scenic route and apparently a nice "safe to drive your mom" route (sorry for the scare mom, I didn't know). If you're a motorcycle person, I recommend the scenic route.
I went for the Rocky mountain oyster festival for the first time and it was amazing. Lots of little shops with sports memorabilia and plenty of shirts and hats. What stood out the most was the price of everything. Usually these types of events are outrageously priced but this one was so reasonably priced I spent a little more than I usually do. Tons of people but the croud was family oriented and everyone was very nice. I will be attending this event every year!
You HAVE to make the short trip to Virginia City if you are in the Reno/Tahoe area! The history, the museums, the shops, the hotels, the bars and the food all must be experienced. The folks here are so friendly. They want you to come away with a smile on your face. And, don't worry, you will! The V & T train excursion schedule for 2021 from Carson City to VC should be coming soon. We live in the Carson City area and always take visiting friends and family here. Enjoy!
I LOVE it!! We live in Reno and always come up here! Laura the manager at Bucket Of Blood is awesome!! BOB is a must go to bar, ask for Laura and she definitely take care of you!!
One of the greatest and most authentic experiences you'll ever have in your life! Every street of this little ghost town is dripping with history and absolute majesty. I cannot recommend Firehouse Grill and Creamery highly enough if you're looking for amazing food and great people to chat it up with.
