Great hike,loved it
Secluded and peaceful woods to find your Zen , the walk is good too, 2 miles round trip. As of today , there is a huge hornets/bees nest in a large tree on the right hand side just as you start into the wooded area after the short walk from parking area. You will HEAR them easily as I did and I walked back and forth a couple times before THEY came into view. I walked the other way back on the return, I didn't feel like pressing my luck with that horror.
Good running trails. Overall nicely marked. Good speed without many rocks or roots except with few areas. Various easy cross over the stream with added stepping stones. For longer runs will require couple loops for ~5 miles to several loops for 7+ miles.
Note wear bright colors during hunting season. as did see a hunter and several hunter perches. No marking if active hunting. Nothing noted on website.
Nice trail along Creek. Be aware that Archery hunting begins September 10 so wear bright clothing if you or hiking.
A very well maintained network of trails near and along the creek. There is an old cottage with stone walkway leading down to the creek and the old stone spring house. Walk a bit upstream and there are the remains of an old (non-functioning) dam and the shallow remains of the pond it created. Take the Double Bank (Red) tail for a nice walk along two sides of the creek. The trail crew created multiple stone walkways down, across and up the creek. The forested area i's not showing excessive deer browse as there are many native saplings surviving.
