“Nice park by Franklin lake. Well kept and my two kids love it (both are under three years). Great variety of things to play and climb on. My two especially love the roller slide. Park has quite a bit of shade for hot days in the summer.”

“Wow this small out of the way base has wide spacious concrete sites, we were so surprised and happy. We stayed two days on our way up the east coast. It was a great break for us and they have an amazing Delicious Orchards grocery store that is huge and carries everything. Unfortunately we went on a Saturday and it was so busy you couldn't hardly walk through it. If you are traveling up the east coast and want a nice place to stay on your way, this is it!!!”

“Good park to walk around and ride bikes. Has a baseball field, playground, basketball courts that usually aren't crowded, and some hiking trails in the back left corner that are nice to explore. There's food right across the street too.”

“I had just moved to the area and was looking for a good walking trail. 80 acres park does not disappoint! It has well maintained trails with easy to see markers and plenty of beautiful foliage. The paths are sanded so even though it rained the night before, the trails were dry and easy to navigate. The park includes a nice sized playground for kids and two baseball fields. Despite the great weather, it wasnt crowded at all. Great plan to relax and take a load off! Highly recommend for joggers in the area.”

“This is well worth the time of any history buff or anyone wanting to learn more about an important moment in American and New Jersey history. The visitor center is brand new and features some really great exhibits; not to mention many artifacts from the actual battle. There is also a 10 minute movie which is a great way to start your visit to the park. Additionally, there are many trails, some pertaining directly to the battle and others simply for outdoor recreation. If you do a battle trail make sure you pick up a paper guide from the visitor center; it's a great way to keep track of the locations and the sites you visit along the way.”

“This is a post for Big Brook Preserve on the Colts Neck Side see website for Big Brook Preserve. Great place! Have been going here for years. The trick is be patient the fossil/shark teeth aren't huge but plentiful. Though you may find some 1" and up. Kids love it too, great place to teach them about fossils, water, land and it's inhabitants. Fossilized shells and Bellminite are easy finds for the little ones. Bring:sifting screens, trowel, container for finds, something to sit on small tarp, snack or lunch & water. We wear rain boots in the water. Also bring at least 2 large containers of water to wash up towels. Biodegradable soap. It can get muddy!! Bring a change of clothes. Not always necessary but if you're there long enough someone either falls in, wades into deep water or a water fight. Wear bug spray !”
