This trail heads up to meet with the AT crossing the Rock Cores trail along the way. The parking area is shared with the Garvey Springs trail which also crosses Rock Cores so there are plenty of options for hiking variations. The Douglas passes by the AT camping area just prior to reaching the AT. From the AT intersection, it is not too far to Sunfish Pond and well worth the effort.
