“I was dependent on a very high dose of benzodiazepines and suffered a life-altering seizure, from withdrawal, in late April of 2020. For understandable reasons, my primary doctor and insurance left me with no option other than detox/rehab. This was during the frightening first wave of Covid in metro Boston. I was hesitant to go pre-coronavirus, and definitely didn't want to go then. My last option was to find a psychiatrist out of network. I called/emailed around 20 local psychiatrists and they all seemed too expensive or unhelpful. Felt hopeless. “Dr. Bakri took over when my previous dentist of forever retired to Florida. He’s very gentle and does excellent work. I hate getting the numbing shot but he knows where all the nerves are so I don’t even need the numbing gel anymore! You feel this wee pinch and then that’s it! I don’t know how he does it. He explained how the nerves are laid out in the mouth but at the end of the day it doesn’t hurt to be numbed and that’s the most important part. He also is very particular about his work so he will take the time to make sure that the bite is correct after a procedure. He’s very up to date with technology and has a great sense of humor, and always makes time if there’s an urgent toothy situation.”
