I learned a lot going there, exploring the life of what it used to be like living in the village. They have very clean public restrooms available. Free to walk into the houses that are open and places that say “open” on the side.”

Bountiful Gardens

Park Store

“This place is any plant lovers paradise.. it's like walking into wonderland for your first time. It's so gorgeous, there is such a wide range of variety and even different *species*, if you will, of each plant! Not only do they have such an amazing variety of choice, their prices are damn near amazing for mostly everything! Some things are a bit pricey but that's to be expected. I was pleasantly surprised to see such amazing prices for such unique/rare plants. Also have some lovely staff working here, were very helpful with answering questions, giving options etc. Be forewarned that it's very hard to not leave with 20 plants! So you better have a good backbone! 😅😅😅”

Meadowland Park

Stagg Field Playground

Address: 385 St Cloud Ave, West Orange, NJ 07052, USA

Park

“Solid park & playground to let the kids get some fresh air and run around. The fenced in parts of the playground fence won't actually keep the kids in as there are some gaps or open gate but enough to slow them down as you see them. Also huge playing fields, basketball court and tennis courts there too.”

Washington Township Land Trust Covalsky Nature Preserve

Address: 100 Califon Rd, Long Valley, NJ 07853, USA

Park

Round Valley Reservoir

Address: County Road 629, Lebanon, NJ 08833, USA

Park

“One of the most beautiful places to visit in North Jersey. The water is so clean and fresh. It's like going to a mountain area in another state out Midwest. People come to lay out and swim, and come hang with their dogs as well. I've seen many people with kayaks here and it looks so fun. I'll definitely be back again, I travel about an hour to get here each time and it's worth it. They have different parks within the reservoir. Here's a picture of my uncle and his dog Bear that I took to visit! They loved it!”

Marucci Memorial Park

Address: 301 South Blvd, Spring Lake, NJ 07762, USA

Park

“Beautiful overlook, with sweeping views of Sandy Hook in the foreground, and New York in the background, including Long Island, the Bronx, and the skyline of Manhattan. There is a moving eagle sculpture holding a mangled metal beam from one of the towers, commemorating NJ residents who lost their lives on September 11th 2001. The park grounds were lush with mature trees providing shade and nicely a manicured lawn covered the grounds.”

Rockaway Neck Park

Thomas A. Edison Park

Address: N Patrol Rd, Edison, NJ 08837, USA

“I was looking for a public track and this was the perfect spot! It’s a beautiful area, there are lights for when it gets dark, and it is very well maintained. There was a soccer game on the field one Sunday so I had to wait until it was over, but during the week there aren’t games and it’s more available for use. There are bathrooms right near the track and easy parking.”

Willingboro Lakes County Park

Address: 60 Beverly Rancocas Rd, Willingboro, NJ 08046, USA

Reinheimer Park

Address: 40 Bloomfield Ave, Belleville, NJ 07109, USA

Park

“My dog loves it there, but there are never waste bags in the holder (should you forget or run out) and there is not enough seating for the humans. Also, something different about this park is there is no big dog/little dog area. Everyone plays together.”

Park

“Great little park, tennis courts, basketball and path to planisboro path.”

West Essex Trail

Address: W Essex Trail, Cedar Grove, NJ 07009, USA

“I come here very often. It's a good walk along an old railroad line, still a few traces of that. The one end takes you out by an active rail line so be careful there. A nice walk through the woods overall. Gets a little crowded at times.”

Hartshorne Woods Park, Rocky Point entrance

Address: 1402 Portland Rd, Highlands, NJ 07732, USA

Park

“Amazing trails with a blend of easy to medium difficulty levels with moderate elevation level. The trails are not that well marked but we always ran into someone cycling or walking their dog or regular hikers who were more than happy to guide us. GPS/ phone signal was available throughout, in case you were wondering. Restrooms available at the start of the trail/ parking lot and extremely well maintained. All in all a Saturday morning well spent!”
