Haven't been here in years. There is a reason why it is still around after all this time. I like the kind of Dive Bar/Old School atmosphere. My food was really excellent. This place doesn't try to be fancy and I like it. Simple straightforward good steaks and sides at a fair price point. I'll be back.
This is the last great steakhouse in Albuquerque. The Monte Carlo has always been on the list that included legendary Burque steak houses like the Town House and Paul's Monterrey Inn, but now it's the only one left. Besides the historical significance, this joint by the river is worth visiting for more than a couple of reasons.
The steaks are hand cut, the old fashioned way on a big broiler by the bar. The restaurant is lit to relax and comfortably filled with deep woody tones and plush upholstery too. There's a basket of crackers on every table and the salads are as simple as they are succulent.
If you dig a burger, then there is no finer one to be found in this town. If you want to know what Albuquerque was like in the before time while eating some of the tastiest steak and seafood dishes available, the Monte Carlo is a must.
First time eating out for indoor dinning since you know. Had a delicious juicy and flavorful ribeye steak, a tasty and shockingly not weak long island ice tea with friendly wait staff. Such a great evening out! Thank you.
The steaks are excellent 👍👍👍👍
