New Generation Karate - Martial Arts & Fitness

This dojo, Kyoshi Herman and all of the staff are incredible. At first my son started at age 5, after his dad died suddenly. It was naturally very upsetting and he had a lot of emotions to deal with, especially at that young age, which is difficult. Kyoshi Herman was so kind to him and still is. He helps him get through those humps with his emotion and teaches him to channel them in a positive, productive way. Now my 5 year old twin daughters attend as well. They love it. They come home proud of their belts and about all of the moves they learn. They also learn great lessons like help mom around the house and don't wait until you're asked. Invaluable! They also have camps for days off and fun events like Nerf Wars and movie nights. Don't skip this place!

I never write reviews but this dojo is truly the best karate school and I can't recommend it highly enough! My son has been attending classes here for the last 1.5 years, his confidence and skill level has improved tremendously.

Koyshi is incredibly knowledgeable, caring, patient, and he takes the time to personalize his instruction to each student's individual needs and goals. All the instructors really go above and beyond to engage all levels of students in classes.

Overall, if you are looking to learn karate, improve your physical fitness, or develop your self-defense skills, I highly recommend this karate school. It is a fantastic place to learn, grow, and I consider this dojo the best of the best!

My son is autistic and has special needs. He is used to being treated “differently” at school with a one to one aide and in other areas of his life. But at the DOJO, he is treated the same as every other child. Every child who practices at the dojo are taught acceptance and understanding. Every child at the dojo helps teach my son not just karate, but basic human interactions. Kyoshi Herman is so patient that he shows my son combinations and skills over and over again until he finally understands, without getting frustrated or annoyed. Kyoshi has such a fun way of learning skills that the children respond positively. He not only teaches the skill necessary to promote levels of belts, but every day skills needed in this world today such as active shooter drills. The dojo has nerf wars days and movie nights where the children are not just associates in the dojo, but friends, even brothers and sisters. If you are looking for a place to train and learn karate for you or your children, this is the place!!

Our son has been training with Kyoshi Herman since he was 5. To watch him grow from this curious little boy into a pre-teen that has learned a level of discipline and strength that I can never fathom is amazing. I owe it all to Kyoshi Herman and all the sensei at the dojo. Kyoshi is amazing with all ages, from the littlest kids to grown adults. He even got my son to volunteer his free time at the dojo, which I never thought would be possible!

Kyoshi Herman is more than an instrustor, he is someone whom kids can relate, confide and learn from.
He has taught my son the importance of focus, courage and self worth.
