“Simply stated, Gemini Floor Services saved our floors and brought them to life. We initially made the mistake of letting a general contractor talk us into finishing the hardwood floors, since we were going to save about 3000 compared to quotes we got from a couple flooring companies. We thought we were getting a great deal. The floors were done and looked amazing for a while, but within a few weeks, the floors started peeling (see before photos) and the contractor was long gone and no where to be found. We were horrified and felt like we were swindled. We were depressed. So we decided to get quotes from only reputable flooring companies, reading reviews, having them all come over and look around and give their opinions and pricing to compare. Dyal at Gemini Floors seemed different than the rest. He was genuinely hurt that the floors were in that state and empathized with us, offered us reasons and solutions that made sense, and beat every floor company’s quotes by hundreds of dollars less. His guys came over, striped a part of the floor and put down samples for us to choose from so he would be certain of what we were looking to achieve. We wanted a more rustic look and chose the Jacobean stain with a flat finish. Dyal informed us that they use only the finest floor finish available on the market today, Bona. His crew immediately got to work. They were meticulous, neat, and efficient. The floors were sanded first. Then in order to achieve a deep color, they completed a “water pop”, which is where water is applied to the wood in order to open up the wood fibers so the stain can penetrate deeply for a rich color result. The stain was then applied, allowed to dry, and the following day the Bona flat polyurethane we chose was applied, dried, and then a second coat applied. The result is absolutely magnificent floors, done the right way. A heartfelt thank you to Dyal and crew from Gemini Floors for outstanding work at an unbeatable price.”
