“Tons of wildlife can be spotted here! I saw Woodpeckers, Blue Jays, Hummingbirds, Sea Gulls, Cardinals, Robins, Ducks and then there’s Geese haha. A short trail that is looped in the lower part of the preserve near the museum. You can park your car at the museum and take the trail that starts behind the museum! This preserve features a small pond that shore birds visit. A nice bench for you to perch along with the many other species of birds in the preserve. I hope you enjoy your time here like I did. Cheers!”

Sagamore Hill National Historic Site

Address: 20 Sagamore Hill Rd, Oyster Bay, NY 11771, USA

Park Museum

“Thought the home looks impressive on the outside, wait till you see what’s on the inside! I went into the tour not knowing what to expect, and it was truly a time capsule of Theodore Roosevelt’s life. There’s a lot of antiques from all over the world; the space really highlighted just how much of a free spirit and adventurer he truly was. Our tour guide was spectacular in weaving the story of Roosevelt’s life in such an interesting way. I had no idea that an inkwell could be made from the foot of an animal, or that Roosevelt valued living life to the fullest despite being told that he wouldn’t live past childhood. It’s a touching story, and being in the house really brings you back in time to the mindset and interests that Roosevelt had. He was sort of an erratic genius? I highly recommend this tour, and supporting the space by purchasing tickets online. 10/10 experience!”

“As a parent who frequently takes my kids to John J. Burns Park, I can confidently say that this is one of the best parks in the area. The park is always clean and well-maintained, and there are so many activities available for kids of all ages. Whether you're looking to join an organized sports program or just play a pickup game with friends, this park has it all. The abundance of courts available for basketball and handball is also a huge plus, and the fact that the lights are kept on until 11 PM in the summer months means we can keep playing even after the sun goes down. We've also enjoyed attending the free concerts hosted at the park during the summer, which are always a hit. Overall, John J. Burns Park is a fantastic community resource and a great place for families to spend time outdoors. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and active day out with their kids.”
