You want to travel to Germany but you can’t? Just have a dinner here !
Exterior, interior, and even staffs’ outfits, everything was very authentic (I’ve never visited Germany, sorry if you guys disagree with me ;)
Nevertheless, sausage was awesome. We ordered creamed spinach on the side and it was a good match with sausage. As many people already know, schnitzel was also good. I personally loved the big chunk of mushrooms in the cream sauce.
I am not a big fan of a beer, so the server recommended me a hot wine and hot apple cider. Both were tasty and perfect for cold weather, if you are not a beer fan just like me, try the wine or any drinks that staffs recommend. I think all of the staffs know the menus well, and plus they are super friendly.
Love the fact that this place is in my neighborhood and definitely my go-to place !
Average to good tasting food, large portions, average NYC prices.
Had the potato pancakes, chicken schnitzel, and sausage platter for one.
Of those, the potato pancakes had the most flavour, worth ordering for sure. Chicken schnitzel had good texture too. I liked the taste of one of the sausages, was ok with another, and thought the last one was too bland.
Overall a decent spot!
Oh my god! Definitely try their pork shank and sausages! So juicy, tasty, and flavorful. The meat was just soft with crunchy skin! I love their radish, too! Best companion with the meat which helps you to keep your mouth fresh.
This is the place to go for German cuisine! The food was really good. It’s nicely decorated inside too. The service was okay. They did check for vaccination cards. If you’re looking h for beer then this is also a great place to get one. I highly recommend this place out!
This is one of my favorite restaurants to dine in at in the upper east side. It’s so unpretentious. The vibe is cozy and feels like a German pub. The place is busy but doesn’t feel packed. I didn’t expect o be wowed since I was like how good can potato’s, cabbage, and schnitzel be? But man is it good. The food is outstanding - they make the best chicken schnitzel I’ve ever had. The German beers are also delicious and come out quickly.
