(June 7, 2023, 11:23 am)Small place with limited seating serving up some great west African cuisine right next to the Consulate General of Nigeria. It’s my first time trying west African food and it was great! The goat stew and fufu goes together very well. Very flavorful, would come back again and try all their other items.

The food was good.
The service was fine.
They have a humble space so there’s not much ambience to speak of.
It’s New York City so in and out you go.
The jollof rice was OK.
I won’t go back because the prices were out of proportion to the quality of the food, but I’m not mad at them.

(December 5, 2022, 4:00 pm)Thank you for such a wonderful meal and overall experience!! A+++ service all the way!! Food was delicious and service was impeccable. We ordered for Thanksgiving dinner and gave a very short timeframe. They were so sweet and gracious, walked us through the order, so although order was placed online, they took the time to ensure everything was correct. Food, delicious!!!
(March 23, 2022, 10:54 am)Can’t recommend this highly enough!! Hidden gem very close to grand central. Everything is prepared fresh and it shows. Below are some recommendations based on what I’ve tried:
- rice combo. You get a choice of “sauce” and one of their rices (jollof, coconut fried, white, etc). The sauce can be vegetarian. Personally I recommend the “stew” with mackerel - its spicy, rich tomato based and VERY TASTY.
- Egusi. This dish is made from ground melon seeds combined with salted fish/shrimp, collard greens. It has a great texture that at first seems like firmer scrambled eggs, very rich flavor.
-bases. These are “round loaves” made of various gluten free starches (corn meal, cassava, etc). Very fresh and perfect for dipping into a stew or sauce. If you’re not a rice fan consider buying a couple of bases and pair with a soup or stew. If you are from the Caribbean and miss “ground provisions” you will probably like this.
One last note: There isn’t that much seating inside so you may want to opt for delivery or take out.
