Rockaway Beach

Great beach! Not crowded and clean. I just wish some people to be respectful and listen music using headphones to let everyone enjoy the sound of the ocean.)

The sand was almost perfect and the water too... incredible. Rockaway Beach is changing for the better

Haven't been here in 40 yrs. Allot has changed especially after the big hurricane Sandy. It's much more beautiful than it was 30-40 years ago (as you can see from the pics, the ocean water is a bit turquoise) the beach also has a modern archetectural designed bathroom.
Pros: beaches are not too crowded. Beach balls, floats, surfboards are allowed.
Cons: Not enough shower stalls to rinse off. Bathrooms closes too early at 5:30 (Not ideal for summer time). No signs of bathroom hours informing guests.
Some parts of Rockaway closed off for construction. No entertainment like Luna Park to attract more guests.

Its always fun and clean. Take bus to the beach or train. either way is a great ride. Lots of food places to eat and beach stuffs you can buy. 1 star down as the latrine closes early. Need more of shower heads otherwise its a great beach.Look forward to fun and just fun.

The life guards and beach security is very tight! They are on top of everything. The water temperature was actually great for New york it's usually cold but this time after so many yrs i enjoyed the beach! The whole vibe is nice and relaxed. The strip before going to the beach has stores to purchase item's for the beach, a Pizzeria, Spanish restaurant, liquor store and an Ice cream shop!! I loved it.
