“I had a wonderful experience with Barbara Charles. No one is perfect, and I personally experienced 2 crappy doctors before finding her, and I am very happy that I did. She was very thorough and informative with the birth experience and breastfeeding, which I was thankful for because this was my first pregnancy and child and I was interested in a more natural, holistic approach which Barbara endorsed. She went above and beyond for me and located much needed external resources for myself and my unborn including nutritious foods and temporary housing and I never felt like she was belittling me or looking down on my situation. She can be a little aggressive at times about what she wants for you/ her patients, however, I am my best advocate and I wasn’t afraid to let Barbara know who was really in charge, while also considering the facts of what she had to offer. It’s true, the wait is ridiculously long, almost 2 hrs each time so don’t even bother being “on time” and the East Meadow office is a relatively small, shared space with a chiropractor office, so there really isn’t much space for the whole family and definitely not children. Though Barbara does have ALOT of toys and books to keep them occupied. My birth was a bit chaotic because my labor stalled for many hours then progressed fully within 20mins. No one believed when I said what i was feeling and ultimately when my son was born, he was blue and had a cord around his neck. No idea how for long or any other details surrounding it as internal monitors were not in place for sake of time. I don’t believe that was Barbara’s fault though because not even the Nurses were prepared or believeing I was ready to push. Everything was and still is fine with baby boy, who is now 9months, exclusively breastfed, and developing normally. To each his own, but I would only recommend her if you are okay with being assertive, even to a medical professional.”

“This is the second time in a couple years that I've needed an emergency vet late at night and both times I've made the 20 minute drive here instead of ones closer to me because of the exceptional service and care. From the staff who check you in to the doctors, everyone is so incredibly kind and attentive. The facility itself is very clean and comfortable. Additionally, despite the visits being considered emergency, the costs are no where near astronomical. This is definitely my go to hospital for emergencies and if I lived closer, they'd be my regular vet for sure.”
