“Perfect place to launch! They gave us life vests to use for free, good info about the rapids, and had porta-pottys on site. Free parking too”

“9.9.18 was our first time out here for a hike. I love this area. Not a hard hike so I will say this is great for beginners. Lots of great views of the river falls. Get there early is say it takes about 5 to 6 hours of total hiking and stopping to see everything. Really if you just hike it you can do it app without stopping in about 2 to 3 hours. But it's worth stopping and taking in the view”

“An easy place from which to launch a kayak, canoe, or a catamaran. This being a reservoir, no power boats are permitted. That makes this a great place to enjoy a safe quiet afternoon of paddling. For a good workout, make your way down the reservoir to the Mongaup Falls. Almost hidden from view in the greenery, this is the perfect stopping place to enjoy the lunch which you will have remembered to pack, and maybe a beverage. It's a well-kept site, and the addition of a port-a-potty would up the comfort level a notch. Still, it's a great launching point for an afternoon of enjoyment.”

“This place is a Disneyland for kids fighting cancer. It's another home away from home. With warm & devoted volunteers (yes, everyone in this camp is a volunteer) every kids gets treated with heartwarming devotion, just like a father to his son. The unimaginable becomes imaginable, the impossible becomes possible, the unexpected becomes expected, and each kid will never forget his experience in Camp Simcha.”

“Access from Eden Rd goes across private land to State Land Parking lot. That road is in very bad shape, and even with an SUV going very slow it is difficult to drive. Blue trail after that is nice, all in the woods high above the Neversink river.”

“Man I was in Troop 97 from Leonardo/ Atlantis Highlands NJ. Had a great time there in the summer in the early 70s. We did a winter camp and it was 18 below with 3 foot of ice on the lake and about that much snow and here we are in a tent, with straw and newspapers as a floor with a tarp over that. We would throw bricks in the fire and pull them out to put in our sleeping bags by our feet. I only went that one time in the winter. A few of us ended up in the lodge after midnight with a bunch of other scouts laying on tables around the huge fire place and I had good boots where some just had converses on there feet...What a blast...Now I live in Austin Tx”
