“Wondering if I gave this place 1 Star, if I would get bad Karma ???? just kidding had some 5 star spiritual experiences here. A range of retreat types. Check the Kadampa New York and other websites. Some good beginner and more advanced options. Top tip book early if you want to stay on site in your own room. I have stayed in the smaller dorm and few times and was fine. Also stayed near Port Jervis in a hotel but I prefer the experience staying on the site! If you have any curiosity around meditation I recommend this place. It’s open to all faiths including atheists. No requirement to be a Buddhist!”

“Man I was in Troop 97 from Leonardo/ Atlantis Highlands NJ. Had a great time there in the summer in the early 70s. We did a winter camp and it was 18 below with 3 foot of ice on the lake and about that much snow and here we are in a tent, with straw and newspapers as a floor with a tarp over that. We would throw bricks in the fire and pull them out to put in our sleeping bags by our feet. I only went that one time in the winter. A few of us ended up in the lodge after midnight with a bunch of other scouts laying on tables around the huge fire place and I had good boots where some just had converses on there feet...What a blast...Now I live in Austin Tx”
