Me and my younger brother were there in the mid 90s....we met a lot of cool people there....I was in Rose n Collins Cottage.....I was always going AWOL n OP...had the whole special services chasing me around the campus....I was on the jv n varsity basketball team...Ms. Mary was the coach
I was placed in king unit, McAllister cottage 82-84. Can't wait to visit again. It was the greatest time in my life. Anyone remember Mr. Bassknight. The teachers aid would call him bassie or bassey. I worked at the thrift store to earn money for PX. Anyone remember Mrs, oxley? OMG I loved CV. My staff there awesome Jerome Powell, J-one Issac chestnut, Mr, bailey oh and Mrs, write gosh who else.oh yeah Mr. Smith used to sing oh what a beautiful morning. Lol!! Mrs, Hazel. Used to call me Mafia.
I was here in 1970 to 72. Mom and Pop Harmon. Mr Carangie and Mr....(Big tall swedish guy, He was totally cool)
Reindeer cottage then The Harmon's cottage...forget the name for the moment. I loved it. My teacher Mr G was absolutely the best. I loved him like a father. He treated us so well. Took us camping on his property in Pond Ridge.(Never tried to molest us if your thinking that!)
Treated us like gold! I can't say enough about this place. It set the course for the rest of my life, which has been pretty damn good!
I was at Children's Village a long time ago. The date was May of 1978-August of 1979. I was 12 years old. My name is Anthony Hill. It was a interesting experience that I will never forget. I always said I would visit back there one day because it was such an amazing experience. One day soon I will, especially seeing Crolius Cottage where I stayed.
