I'm a sixty-seven year-old woman who looked my age, but who felt years younger. At work, my appearance was a disadvantage, and despite my good performance, I was perceived as an "older," i.e., less valuable employee. I decided to have a facelift in the hope that it would take years off of my appearance. That was the question I asked myself every time I looked in the mirror after I had my eyelids done.

The decision to have a blepharoplasty happened because I had hooding and just didn't like what I saw every morning as I put in my contacts and put on my moisturizer.

I had a consult with Dr. Ciardullo and honesty is his mantra. He explained the procedure, answered ALL of my questions patiently and after finances were discussed I made my decision.
His album of pre and post op patients were proof enough that he was an excellent surgeon.

This is how it went:
Medical clearance (if you are 40 or over)
Actual surgery is an hour and a half
Recovery after is about an hour.
Get a ride home and relax in your bed (sleeping elevated) with frozen veggies/or crushed ice on your eyes for four days.
Fourth day sutures out.
Swelling/redness and healing process are all individual...depending on each person
No contacts for 6-8 weeks but I wore those charming magnifiers and had no problem.
Now, I look back and ask what was I waiting for?
