(May 27, 2022, 9:17 pm)UPDATE: Soon after leaving my initial review I was contacted by the installation manager, John Burns. We discussed the issue I have had over the past few years with the Fujitsu Mini-Split systems. He said he would take care of the problems and sent over two superb technicians James and Jay who diagnosed and repaired all the malfunctioning compressor systems. It was line sets on one system and poor couplings on the others. They meticulously pressure tested after repairs and brought each system back to working order. John was 110% true to his word and made sure that the problems were all corrected. I wish John was there when these problems started.

Its been 6 years since we bought this house. We kept Burke for our HVAC as they provided oil to prior owners. I would give them ZERO stars if not for the extremely nice service tech's. They charge more than anyone else in the area for oil, typically $0.50 -0.80/gallon more even even with their preferred customer fixed price contract. This happened every year even when oil was at the lowest end. The big problem however is their management doesn't stand behind their work. We paid $30,000 for all new Fujitsu Min-splits (4 compressors) HVAC 6 years ago when we renovated. Starting in the 3rd year, each compressor has failed repeatedly with low or absent refrigerant. This has happened more than 4 times and 3 times over the past 2-3 years for the same compressor!! I left countless messages for the service manager Tom and after months when he finally called, nothing happened. They charged me for every service call plus they charged me for the constantly missing refrigerant. The technicians while extremely polite seemed very uncomfortable in discussing or explaining the reasons for multiple failures.. the typical answer was poorly tightened coupling. Who did the tightening? Finally last year they admitted that the insulated line sets they used for the installation are known to become defective, developing pin hole slow refrigerant leaks (confirmed by Google searches). Did they offer to stand behind their installation and replace the line sets for free? Or maybe just charge me labor costs? No, the cost they proposed for the most recent failed compressor (shortest and most direct compressor line set) was 3x cost of other local HVAC companies. Burke (a division of Petro BTW) is only interested in maximizing their profits, no consideration for quality or doing the right thing for their customers. If they were a locally owned business they would lose every customer. Time to move on....
(December 4, 2021, 11:55 am)Furnace kept backfiring and not functioning properly, reached out to Sclafani for a service call...they sent Fernando, tech #032, who was absolutely amazing! He was at my home working from 9:30am to 6:30pm, with not one complaint and the job at hand was not easy, he had to replace the fan motor within very tight quarters. Throughout the day he kept me posted on progress, was knowledgeable and professional! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Thank you Fernando for your service!!!
