“An architectural Masterpiece, as soon as you walk in you are engulfed with this feeling of pure amazement!! The indoors is truly gorgeous, it feels like a combination of being in a museum and a library. The best part of all is that is totally FREE!! and as long as you don’t use flash, photography is allowed. Just remember its an actual library so you have to keep quiet and respectful of others.”

“Really great library. Easy parking, book donation bin, book return bin, multiple outside pick up spots. One way traffic. Awesome to be able to go back inside. Entryway beautifully displayed with the local school's k-12 art. Always beautiful images to look at here. Local children's projects inside. Spaces for privacy, meetings, and tutoring. Has a nice newsletter. At the information desk, there is an excellent selection of free seeds for planting, a very smooth process on how to get them, and a helpful binder on best planting conditions. There's also so many free rentals of electronics, instruments, technical tools and equipment, and museum/park passes. Lastly if they don't have what you want, they usually go out of their way to find it in the system. Employees are still masked. Bathrooms are open and clean. Always a joy.”

“Front desk staff wasn’t friendly and spoke very loud. The outside and inside design was very beautiful with the city view and water front. They definitely have a good collection of books, but as a library, it was very noisy inside. You can heard everything and all the conversation from the visitors and the staff. Other than the front desk staff, other staff on the second floor and above were very kind and nice. Will try to stop by another time with a better weather and I’m gonna read some books here!”

There is a large kids’ play area with tons of different activities and toys to play with. Multiple story times each week. Wish this was our own library! 📚”

Goethe-Institut New York

“The Goethe Institute is a truly magnetic place where one can learn German, German literature, and German contemporary culture in general. Tucked away on Irving Place near Union Square, it offers a spacious library on the ground floor, and airy classrooms on the 4th floor. It’s best to join as a student or member in some form. I love this Institute. It is a haven for anyone interested in the European intellectual life and life style.”

“Though not a circulating library, the Marion H. Skidmore Library is absolutely worth a visit! It has a comfortable reading room available with a very well organized collection to browse. There is also a very nice media room in the basement that was recently renovated. Last but not least, the librarian is extremely knowledgeable about both the collection as well as the town.”

Part of the Westchester Library system - means that you can get to borrow items from any library in system by online or in library request and your items will be delivered to the library of your choice. In addition you can return items to any library in the system. Croton library has the largest collection of Blue-ray DVD's (not largest collection of regular DVD's). Soon will have 3D printers for public use - great thing both for children to learn and use and for adults. Great to see that the new revolution in manufacturing is coming to Croton on Hudson.”
