“First, the location is great, right off the highway and within 20 minutes of 2 major interchanges. The hotel itself is a great value for the money. It is very clean, the staff is very friendly. They have a great lobby for meeting up with people and grabbing a drink at the bar. The rooms are very comfortable and have good amenities. The breakfast layout is great too featuring a ton of different options, and change from day to day. Checkout was super fast too. This is my go to hotel when I'm in the area.”

“Man I was in Troop 97 from Leonardo/ Atlantis Highlands NJ. Had a great time there in the summer in the early 70s. We did a winter camp and it was 18 below with 3 foot of ice on the lake and about that much snow and here we are in a tent, with straw and newspapers as a floor with a tarp over that. We would throw bricks in the fire and pull them out to put in our sleeping bags by our feet. I only went that one time in the winter. A few of us ended up in the lodge after midnight with a bunch of other scouts laying on tables around the huge fire place and I had good boots where some just had converses on there feet...What a blast...Now I live in Austin Tx”

“This was a perfect place for a break away from NYC. So easy to get to via the metro north line and Jim’s accommodation is only short and inexpensive Uber ride away from the train station in beacon (less than ten minutes). Jim’s gorgeous property is located on the foothills of mt beacon we took the nearest trail from his location the notch trail and hiked for about 4 hours using the maps he provided. The property is peaceful and so pretty. Loads of outdoor seating area to relax and look out at the view of the surrounding woodland. My boyfriend and I both slept wonderfully (gotta love the sound of silence) comfortable and quaint rooms. We will be back again, Jim was a very welcoming host thank you.”

“Had an absolutely wonderful time here relaxing and enjoining the outdoors... The camp ground is really peaceful... our site was # 84 . The staff is limited but friendly and helpful.....the grounds are kept in a natural state. HOWEVER..... the restrooms/showers are horrendous... they didn’t seem to get used by other campers much and they still were dirty. It doesn’t seem like much effort is put into maintaining a clean or updated bathroom facility or game room. ** But this definitely Will Not stop me from coming back because it’s such a laid back and peaceful place.. My suggestion is to prepare for a more primitive camping experience when it comes to showering and using the bathroom...there is running water on all the sites... just make sure to run it a bit before using due to the sulfur smell(well water). A camping shower & camping toilet highly recommended if you’re tent camping.Other than that.... prepare to have a lovely time in here.”

“Ok, let's start with this is an Econo Lodge. The nicest Econo Lodge I've been to. The breakfast is continental, and no fruit. But they have breakfast, like cereal and juice. Couple other things The only issue is we were in first floor room and could hear the people walking upstairs a little but it wasn't so bad. We slept fine Well managed location”

“Staying here was a wonderful experience...Julia was so very helpful in booking our dinner reservations just across the border in PA at Two Rivers Grill which was excellent! We had trouble with GPS so Julia printed us directions to the new resort casino in Monticello. Both the cottage and the main house were both exquisitely decorated with beautiful old wood charm, furnishings and decor. Our breakfast was wonderful with scrambled eggs, bacon, lox and bagels and a delicious homemade pecan crumb coffee cake and blueberry scones! The property was scenic and expansive with a pond, a stream, waterwheel, barns and flower gardens! We saw a mama bear and cub strolling through the woods behind the cottage. There were hammocks and a firepit on the back lawn overlooking the pond. The rustic front porch had a top of the line smoker, rocking chairs, and the cozy back porch had tables for dining outdoors. Thanks to lovely Julia...you made our stay simply wonderful! We definitely look forward to coming back for a stay and next time I'll bring my fishing pole!”
