“The weekend before the NYC coronavirus shutdown, I took my friend Jérémie to Zerza while he was visiting town. As we sat upstairs savoring our lamb tagines, blissfully unaware of what was to come in the next few months, I mentioned that some of my friends had recently been on vacation to Morocco, but that they had gotten tired of eating only tagine on their trip. To which Jérémie just laughed and said that this was not possible. Three and a half months later, I can vouch for the accuracy of his statement. Thank you, Zerza, for staying open and feeding me through the entire coronavirus shutdown. Sometimes I was so stressed during that period that food had no taste, and I would only eat once a day. But when it feels like the whole world is ending outside, nothing can make it better like a great home-cooked tagine. I don't know what kind of crack they put in it that keeps me coming back, but this stuff is comfort food in the truest sense - it is a warm hug when social isolation renders actual human contact impossible. Five stars for the food (six for the duck confit), five stars for the music.”

We ordered a fire & smoke omelette with tomatoes & spinach for my self while my husband ordered poached eggs with hash brown. Our food came with a side Of toast & fries. Also, ordered their tasty coffee, fresh grape fruit juice & 2 pancakes on the side. Their home made jam & jelly was to brag about. One of the best we have ever had. At the end of our meal we were also given a loyalty card. If you order 9 entree the 10th is free. There was a little wait time since it’s very famous. Highly recommended!”

“Easily in my top three best pizza joints in buffalo. The pizza is top notch, and their prices are super low considering the quality of ingredients. Always consistent too. My favorite is their chicken finger pizza (normal cheese pizza with red sauce, but with chunks of barbecue chicken fingers on top)— best I’ve ever had. They also look out for their community and have donated a ton of money to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center to support their cutting edge research. The owner is really friendly too! Can’t say enough about this place— highly recommend!”

“Since I moved to Chelsea, Momoya has been on a major wait--they don't take reservations, and they stop takeout at 7pm, so it took some effort to get in, but I loved my meal there! The sushi was rich and melted in my mouth. The fish tasted fresh and the rice was on point. The prices are extremely fair and competitive for NYC. Momoya is on the trendier side with lounge-type of music and modern decor, but it's fine to dress casually. 10/10 would go back! Edit July 2018: I have now been to Momoya three times. “Honestly, I don't know anything about the current Papa Joe's -- I have lived in New York City for 45 years and haven't even visited Buffalo in 13 years --- but Papa Joe's is important to me because it once belonged to my grandfather, who established a bar there. I don't know exactly when it was established, but it was already in operation in 1910 and he owned it through Prohibition, and passed away in 1935. My father was actually born upstairs - over 100 years ago! The bar has been in operation, under various ownership, for more than 100 years!! That's something, I think! I grew up on Randolph Ave. Will definitely stop by on my upcoming visit (whenever that will be, I don't know but I am planning to go "home" some time soon.)”
