Portofino's Italian Restaurant

Without a doubt, their Stromboli is the best we have eaten anywhere! We always order the large because the leftover can be taken home. Tonight, the large fed three in our party, and a quarter of the Stromboli was carried home in a box! My wife says the salad at Portofino is the best as well. We arrived at the restaurant right at closing and offered to take our food to go. The owner said that was nonsense, and we should take our time to enjoy our meal!

Best NY Style Pizza outside of EY that I've had. The crust is air and crisp. Gets better and better with every bite. The cheese is amazing and the sauce is so flavourful. 🥰

My husband and I tried this place a few months ago when we were close by and it was delicious! When we realized we were close again today we had to stop by and get another pizza. Today was even better than I remembered. We had a pepperoni pizza and it was probably the best one I have had in years. The sauce was perfect with just the right amount of pepperoni and cheese. The crust was cooked perfect so it had just enough crunch but could still be folded to eat easily. The perfect slice of pizza.... Yum!
We ordered the pizza to go thinking we would have to eat in the car but when we went in to pick it up we realized you could eat in now and they got a table ready for us quickly and our pizza was right out. The waitress was great and she made sure we had everything we needed. My only complaint is they aren't close to my house lol. Now I just have to find more reasons to go to Gastonia.
If you like good News York style pizza go try one from here you won't be disappointed.

I adore portofinos since I discovered after moving here seven years ago. Pizza like New York/new jersey. Light crust, heavy basil, perfect red sauce. The staff has been amazing year in , year out. The other dishes are (finger kiss) perfection. I eat there whenever I have the money and time to enjoy it properly.
