Hickory Tavern

(EDIT 3 yrs later) Well its time to change my review as I continued going back because of the convenience of their location to where I live, walking distance.. There has been many changes in the last few years and they have pretty much all been for the better. It has definitely become one of our Holly Springs favorites for a casual lunch. Prices are no cheaper but the food and waitstaff make up for it.

(ORIGINAL REVIEW) I’ve had one or two great meals and one or two that are just so so. Service has been typical for the type of restaurant that it is, not better than others but not any worse. Was really hoping for another decent lunch place to hit 1-2x per week but their prices will keep me from coming in more than occasionally as its a bit more pricey than similar restaurants in the area.

We have fallen in love with this place! It has a nice atmosphere, really good outdoor seating regardless of inclement weather (which is super important to us right now) and the food is exceptionally good! The service has always been great and lots of beer selections! Highly suggest the shrimp po boy or any of their salads! Looking forward to trying out some other menu items but honestly they have us hooked with these! Local seasonal ingredients, you can really taste the difference!
