Visible from I-80, the Shrine is a beautiful piece of architecture, almost startling in appearance as it seems to be out of place and appearing unexpectedly among the rolling hills, trees, and other bits of nature that represents the beauty of Nebraska and an homage to the Holy Family as depicted in the gorgeous etched glass. There is tremendous beauty to be seen inside the church, as well as in the countryside stretching for miles in every direction. The little stream that runs into the church through the outer stone architecture harmonizes the balance of nature in and around the structure. The stone and wood building materials give the church the feel of any number of churches in the wilderness and near small towns throughout early U.S. history. The metal and wood arches combined with the large windows on three sides highlight the brilliance of modern architectural skills and design while still blending nicely with the simple design of a traditional and small house of worship that was the backbone of many towns in our country. Sitting inside or at any number of spots outside gives one a chance for peaceful meditation even for non-Catholics. For Catholics and those aware of the practices of that faith, the lit, red candle at the front of the church is a reminder that blessed hosts are present in the tabernacle asking for a quiet reverence and respect from believers and non-believers alike. This is not a museum, but rather a working Catholic Church with the Stations of the Cross, a beautiful altar, stained glass, statuary, and other elements that can be admired with the same manners expected of visitors to any house of God no matter one's beliefs, denominations, or lack thereof. Even outside, beneath the imposingly tall crucifix, it is polite to be silent or speak in hushed tones out of respect for those who may be praying and/or those admiring the beautiful pieces of art that the crucifix, the Holy Family etched glass, and the church itself represent. My simple camera and amateur skills don't do the justice to this monument that a professional would likely attain, but I hope you find these pleasing nonetheless and an enticement to visit the shrine.

I have passed this location several times on my way too and from CO. This time I had to stop. There was a fresh layer of snow and the chapel looked so beautiful!

It us such a fantastic opportunity to stop and reflect. There are walking trails surrounding the property. I bet the flowers are beautiful during the summer.

The interior is simply awe inspiring. The floor to ceiling windows are spectacular! The decorative wood working us amazing. The chapel is so calm and peaceful. A great respit for thoughtful contemplation.

Can't wait to stop and see it in a different season .

The Holy Family Shrine is very beautiful and unique compared to other Catholic shrines, which are typically more ornate. The Shrine is built on a hill overlooking the interstate with surrounding hills and fields. The visitor’s center has interesting information on the history of the chapel. It is very peaceful, especially with the water fountains in the chapel/visitor’s center.

The road to the Shrine is gravel, and it’s about 10 minutes off the highway. Just like all Catholic shrines, it is free.

My nephew Manny recently took on a new construction project here putting up "the way of the cross" signs with biblical verbiage and they look absolutely amazing! I cannot say enough great things about Manny who is only 17 years old and took on this project of 16 locations of digging footing,pouring concrete,building signs,the logistics to get the posts powder coated,etc etc. He did this for his last project as an eagle scout! Hes an amazing young man who works hard every day with his boss who is the architect who designed and built the holy shrine. Just want to say I love you and proud of you once again nephew. Very thoughtfully planned. Everything has symbolic significance. And so peaceful.

Great place for Hyderabadi Biryani. It's my favorite restaurant . The staff is always really nice (Asif bhai). The food is healthy, fresh and tastes great, halal.

One of the best spots of its kind in the area. The service here is great. This place has a nice feel to it.

Some of the most authentic Indian food I can find inside the belt line. Delicious biryani. One chef cooks all the food and he’s a really genuine guy.
