“A few months ago, I wrote a note of Thank You to the Swepsonville Fire Department. Since we have moved to the country, here in Saxapahaw, about 1:30ish in the morning we were woken to all our alarms going off at the same time, smoke and other.... it was quite frightening for the family. Since we were fairly new to the community, we were not sure how quickly the Swepsonville Volunterr Fire Department would respond. We called the fire department thru 911 Dispatch and both Dispatch and Swepsonville Fire Department were quick to respond. Our home, crawl space and alarms were checked and we got the all was ok by the Fire Cheif, mind you and all the polite Fire Fighters. Seems our house inspector prior to the purchase of our home failed to mention 10 years or less is a good rule to follow for replacing the hard wired alarms. Apparently as they age they all will fail and alarm to even a spec of dust! Lesson learned all smoke and carbon monoxide plus gas detectors are now replaced and a happy ending to frightning wake up. Thank you Swepsonville Fire Department and 911 Dispatch for your prompt response time and your professionalism. You do the surrounding communities proud and serve to the highest standard, perhaps better than the city! Kudoos to you all! The check is in the mail. God Bless you all! “My Mom fell in the middle of the night and fractured a hip. I called 911 and the EMS team was here within 5-10 minutes. They are efficient and professional while showing compassion and patience. Not only did they get her to the hospital, but when I brought her home, they were at my door as soon as I called to get her back upstairs in the house. They were also there to help when she had a follow-up doctor appointment. Three weeks later she had another emergency and they handled it the same way as the first. I think over the last few weeks, we have interacted with every shift at this station. I cannot express enough how much their care and compassion means. Corolla Fire Station 61 is the best out there.”
