“I trained with Sensei Steven several years ago before I moved out of state. After checking out the other martial arts school that were in town (if you want to call it that) where the instructor had his students self promote him I found Sensei Steven. I must say he has the most extensive martial arts background and experience, far beyond anyone or martial art school in the area. He has the history and documentation to prove he is what he says he is as well as the winnings from tournament competition that both he and his students have achieved. When I visited the other martial arts school he would not show me any of his background and deflect the conversation, that was red flag for me. Sensei Steven answered all my questions and showed me his past instructors and training. This dojo is the only traditional karate school in King. You will not find a better one in the area. It may be small and that is to the advantage of the student in that you get personal instruction from Sensei Steven himself, not some child or teen teaching you as I saw in comparison with the other one in town. That's what I like about Sensei Steven, was the personal instruction and correction. His standards are high and he expects you to earn your belt, that you will if you put in the effort. If you want quality and professional instruction this is the dojo to train at.”
