Over the past 10 year I have seen the LED and HID market advance and change. I have always driven pick up trucks with factory Halogen headlights. I live in a smaller town and do a lot of night driving so visibility has always been a priority. But, with that being said LED's and Hid's have always left something to be desired. Either the down the road light output was poor and/or the oncoming brightness was overwhelming for oncoming traffic. Here we are in 2018, and Polaris Star LED has fixed all of that for me. I drive a 2009 GMC Sierra 2500 HD and a few months back had purchased kind of a no name LED set for it. The light output was reasonable, but being a 4WD truck I had to adjust them down quite a bit to not blind other. In some cases it still did, and with them being adjusted so far down the light output suffered. One of the headlight's developed a leak (non bulb related) and I decided to get new housings for the truck. Due to the one bulb being in a housing with moisture in it I decided to get new bulbs too. I have to say that I am absolutely impressed. The simple concept of chip placement similar to a halogen bulb and the ability to clock the bulb has not only created a bright, non-blinding light, but also the "cut-off" line you would expect with a set of projector head light housings. It's not often that I am this impressed with something that I have tried again and again brand wise over the years. But, I could not recommend them more. I cannot speak to the longevity yet, but first impressions are always the most important in my book. I will be buying two more additional sets for Christmas for my loved ones. You can't put a price tag on safety and it's even better when they look so good!

I installed these on my 13 wrx. First impression is they are very bright. I like the cool white color. Should provide good definition at night. Installation on the wrx is pretty easy. You just have to remove the intake scoop on the passenger side and the washer fluid tube attchment on the drivers side.

High beams h11 - 4 stars. The connector does not have the retention tab on both sides. On my wiring harness the positive was on the opposite side of the connector. Luckily it is mirror image so it can be inserted the other way. I had to tape the connectors together. Sealight needs to fix this to have the tab on both sides.

Low beams 9005 - 5 stars. Even though there is a cover behind the light the bulb plus regulator fit in the housing no problem. This connector has the retention tab on both sides.

Not sure why the connectors are different but the h11 needs the tool updated.

I am curious how long they will last with the less exposed in bulb. If any failures occur I will update my review.

I was actually debating on buying completely new aftermarket headlight units because the factory halogen lights were so abysmal. I have had so many close calls with animals either standing in the road or running into the road from the side. The halogen bulbs simply didn't put out enough light ahead or to the sides, not to mention making out details was impossible with the murky yellow color. Before spending over $400 on new headlight units I decided to give these LED bulbs a try (both high and low beams). I am so glad I did!!

    Install:

Installation was a breeze, these bulbs don't seem to have the polarity issues some other LED bulbs have that could require rewiring. Super simple plug and play for the most part. My Audi A3 housing needed a bit of modification for the high beams to fit, I don't think other vehicles will require any modding. My vehicle also didn't need any anti-flicker help, though it seems the manufacturer is happy to help if you require that. Even with the modding I needed to do, it only took 20-30 minutes to install these awesome bulbs.

    First Light:

Seriously, the first thing you will say.... WOW! Side-by-Side comparison with the halogen is no contest. LED throws farther and wider, with a much clearer and cleaner light. The color profile is best described as beautiful. Common knowledge is that HIDs will get you a white color headlight as well, but in reality it still appears yellowish after they are warmed up. HIDs are no comparison to LEDs at all, the light stays clean, clear and brilliantly white no matter how long they have been on. Another thing that became apparent is the light's response time, HIDs are notoriously slow so they aren't even considered, but halogens seem incredibly slow next to these LEDs, to the point it is surprising that I never noticed it before.

    The Drive:

So this is where it really counts. Every morning I take my son to school, we live very remotely it is a 50 mile drive one way, and in the dark for the first hour. I brought the old bulbs with me just in case something didn't work out correctly with the LEDs. Immediately upon setting out it was apparent that these bulb were the answer I had been looking for; the entire roadway was being lit up, I could see things on the sides that I could never see before, when using the low beams light was reaching farther ahead than the halogen high beams could ever hope to. 30 minutes in, I can see eyes reflecting ahead on the side of the road, I start to brake, just as I near a group of javelina (native pigs) they rush out into the road, I easily avoided them thanks to the LEDs lighting them up way ahead of what the halogens would have. Had the Halogens been in, it would have been a close call or worse, the LEDs made this a simple, easy avoidance maneuver.

    Period:

These are the best upgrade I have done, I love these things. You will as well. Get some.

    *UPDATE*

Just to let the readers know, these are still going strong 45 days later. No dimming, no color change, no flickering. I use the headlights for a little over an hour ever single day, which equates to nearly 60+ hours of usage so far. These are great! After reading horror stories of other LED headlights dimming, flickering or outright failing within a few weeks of usage I was afraid these wouldn't last, but they are still going! I will do a second update several months from now!
