“My family and I first visited the church for the free lunch program they offered over the summer for my children. I first called the church to get details on the program, Pastor Ken answered and spoke with me for about 15 minutes, getting to know a little more about me and my kids and what we needed. His voice was so calm and warming. When I went to drop the kids off for the first lunch, he invited my husband and I to tour the church, introduced us to some of the staff that would be assisting and working with the kids to help me feel comfortable with leaving them there. He also gave us information about the church and invited us to come for service to see first hand what they are all about. We felt so welcomed already that we did attend service that Sunday morning and have been returning every week since. The entire church "family" has welcomed us all and made the transition for our kids (they've never been to church and the two younger ones have never been under the care of anyone but me, my husband, or my oldest daughter) easier to work through for all of us. I have been to other churches, but have yet to be made to feel as accepted and wanted as Sharon Woods Church has made me feel. I even felt comfortable enough with them that I allowed my 10 year old to go on field trips with them for summer camp activities after only attending 1 service. I appreciate the welcoming more than they will know. The church came into our lives at the right time and helped more than I thought they would in such a short amount of time and without being a certified "member" of the church. Thank you Pastor Ken and the rest of the church family! ?”
