Teaching is focused towards beginners and basic techniques which take years to perfect. The art of Aikido was created so that practitioners could use to defend themselves while also protecting their attacker from injury. Size and strength are irrelevant. Aikido techniques consist of entering and turning movements that redirect the momentum of an opponent's attack, and a throw or joint lock that terminates the technique. It is one of the hardest martial arts to learn. Aikido techniques cannot be understood through explanations; they must be experienced and explored. Your progress is 99% related to your sincere repetition of the techniques. ”

“My appointment was at 9 am. But I had to be there 60 minutes early. And get through registration. Which was not told to me when I was given my appointment time. So when they called me back in the room 20 minutes after what I thought was my appointment time, I was told I was 15 minutes late and that there was a possibility I would not be send in the future if I did not show up on time. So, please, fully inform people of their appointment times on contract- a full 75 minutes earlier than the actual time to see the doctor- so they don’t get chastised.”

“Dr Benner saw my mother to adjust her shunt after an MRI. Although, he was not her neurosurgeon (she was seeing a neurologist) he spent more time with her than the neurologist did that was seeing her for her condition. He checked her reflexes, strengths, memory and seemed to genuinely care about her overall health. I was trying to find out why she was having such a rapid decline after an accident and he was informative but still kind to us.”
