A unique Hungarian food joint in Albany Oregon with a cozy atmosphere, several main entree dishes and unique alcoholic drinks and non-alcoholic drinks such as a Raspberry Sprite and Lounberry Alcoholic Cider. Plus several unique desert's and everyday from 5 pm to closing they have a all you can eat buffet version of all there Hungarian dishes and they take reservations. The first chicken item on the menu is one of there signature dishes, it reminds me of a home cooked meal made by grandma! Definitely worth checking out!
We have been going to Novak's for decades, we travel from Eugene and Portland to meet up for family meals. Their food and service is great. They are only open on Thursday's and Friday's now but still worth the trip. We did the buffet for $49 per person but you get an alcoholic beverage, plus your choice of appetizers and desserts on top of the unlimited entree options. It ends up being a great deal and you get to have a smorgasbord of all the menu items. Kids 4 and under get access to the buffet for free. Everything is so yummy down to their house butter. The cabbage rolls, sausage, and chicken paprikas are so good. They used to be located right off of I5 which was more convenient but now is in downtown Albany. The restaurant is cozy but cute. Always a good experience!
One of my all-time favorite restaurants. The food is always freshly made from scratch with authentic Hungarian ingredients. Every dish is delicious and the service is phenomenal. Highly recommend.
Quite possibly one of the best dining experiences I have ever had in my life. The staff are incredibly friendly, professional, and personable. They made every effort to make sure my date and I were satisfied with our time there. The food was delicious and arrived quickly. I would recommend bringing cash as it is their preference, although you can pay using a credit card for a small percentage fee. I also had a reservation, so can not speak to possible wait times as a walk in. All in all, this was a 10/10 experience and I only wish they were open more days of the week!
We walked in and felt like one of the family. Delicious meal and amazing ambiance. The family history is worth coming in for. The stop is well worth any detour you may take. Thank you Matilda for giving us such a wonderful time and making us one of the family.
