I arrived at 5:00 pm. My appointment was next day at 10:00 am. I requested the Receiving gentleman, John to unload me. He was Cooperarive. He said, "will try, check with me after two hours, however, very likely, you will be unloaded tomorrow morning."
I checked at the window again around 7ish, John was not there, however, other person said, I don't have space. Sorry.
Can't blame them so far.
They let me stay there in the parking lot. I stayed overnight.
No Bathrooms though. Porta party ONLY.
Next morning I tried to check in at 6:00 am. The lady refused. Asked me to come back at 9:30 am.
I went to window again at 9:00 am. There was another gentleman, checked me in and gave me the door.
I was on the door at 9:24 am. Keep this in mind, my appointment was at 10:00 am.
I got the green light at 1:45 pm.
4 hours and 21 minutes since I was at the door and 3 hours and 45 minutes since my 10:00 am appointment.
When you enter in the parking lot, you will feel as if it is a wrong entrance, you will see sign Organically Grown, keep moving, you will see the sign, Grocery Outlet soon.
Receiving office is between doors 13 and 14, staff is nice and friendly, ample parking and usually easy to park. Across the doors, there are trailers parked. However, if the door you are getting, across if trailer and tractor both are parked, you are in difficulty situation. Please be careful. I am attaching the pictures so you know what I mean. Pictures are not in order.
I have rated this location 4. However, if there was a bathroom available and unloading would be in less than two hours, I would rate it 5.
All the best.
Not bad at all for such a tight spot to deliver. Drive thru the Organic place to check in with the Grocery outlet guys. Once in a door they get right to it.
OTR
Yes you can park overnight lots of space
Start at 5 in morning they don’t let you check in before 5am once you got checked in give you door right away . Take 2 hours to unload that’s my experience
Nothing intimidating here. If your equipment exceeds your operating capabilities, you might want to get your skills leveled up considerably before attempting. Many men ahead of me with the fabric helmets took a lot of time getting parked in a door. I would say, nearly twenty minutes each. I was parked in about three. That included sliding tandems, opening doors and getting load locks out. If you have less than two years, you’re in for a long frustrating time. Good luck. Yer gunna need it. 😎
Have to give kudos when due. This place was great. Showed up at 0700 for 0800 appointment to unload. Got a door immediately and was gone before 0800.
As far as the lot situation goes, it wasn’t bad at all. There are definitely way tighter parking situations out there. This was a typical alley dock (90°). I can’t imagine the docked trucks getting hit or scraped during docking as mentioned in several of the comments. I can however, see the dropped trailers getting bumped as they are way tighter. So if your dropping… it’s very tight. But a typical load/unload situation should be just fine.
Phone didn’t work when I tried calling on Sunday (my appointment was a Monday) to see when shipping opened, so I shot for 0700. They told me at check in that they start at 0530, but no guarantee for a door.
