“I pulled off from traffic to Happy Sing Bar. I was stuck in traffic for a few hrs, and this was the first bar from the freeway going East on SE Powell Blvd. This place is easy to miss and small. To my surprise Happy Sing Bar has a full bar, TV, and lotto. But that is not all! They probably have one of the best bartenders in the area. She was gracious, easy on the eyes, quick, humorous, likeable, and gives good advice (as I overheard her give advise to a patron). She keeps an organized, clean, functioning, bar. Her name is Christina, or Tina for short. Even though I came in during shift change she still wanted to serve me without hesitation. That was really nice as I was parched. I think this is a great place to wait out traffic. They were very nice here and the service was really good. The only two things that have bummed me out in recent months is (1) the prices have gone up quite a bit. Probably a 50% increase in the last year alone. It's not quite *expensive* yet, but it's starting to leave budget range, (2) go through and check your to-go order to make sure everything is there. I've found items missing on several recent trips.”

“They give small portions- a sweet potato order only brings out two slices. But it's all you can eat, so can't complain. The broths are good, but be aware that if you ask for a spicy hot and you're using individual portion hot pots, they will add enough oil for a full sized hot pot. So your food will be literally swimming in pure oil. My partner got sick off it, so just be aware. There's no problem with regular sharing hot pot or the non spicy ones. My favorite broth is the herbal one, can't go wrong with it. I wish they had a wider selection of vegetables, but their meat selection is great. The bathrooms are kept clean too. I prefer Urban Hot Pot to this joint, but this place is definitely closer and it still checks all the boxes that a hot pot place should. Especially good if you're a first time hot pot adventurer.”

I ordered the Fried Fish Tacos because I saw the word "habanero". The freshness of the batter mixed with the crunchiness of the cabbage was seriously a party in my mouth. I could have done with a little more spiciness but I do carry my own hot sauce in my bag, swag. I like that it's a dedicated gluten-free restaurant. It makes it easier to enjoy meals with friends that need to be conscious of those things.”

However, the service is what truly impressed me. I was helped by two people and they made sure I was taken care of, with great suggestions and a genuine attitude. “Strolling around the area and stopped in here for a bite to eat. Staff was great. Food was tasty. Space was clean. We got burgers and they were cooked to our perfect level of medium-well. We sat out on the patio and had a few rounds of beers. The selection is decent and the server was regularly checking in with us. The Avocado Bacon Burger was exactly what I was craving and it hit the spot. The vibe, food, and service were quite enjoyable. This place is now bookmarked on my map. If you like a chill spot to eat and just hang for a bit with some friends, this is a great place for exactly that. Only downside: it’s next to a motorcycle shop, so every once in a while you’ll hear a motorcycle start up and make some noise.”
