Best Western Gettysburg

  I mean, it's a modern hotel. Of course it's nice. Of course the staff are nice as well. I don't know what else you'd expect, but it's certainly nothing special. Hotels like this exist in every city in America, and quite frankly, if you're on anything more than a business trip, you should take the risk and stay somewhere that's memorable. This hotel is certainly nice, but you certainly won't remember anything about it. I originally gave 4 star while I was staying there, but have since gone to 5 star, due to their breakfast area on the 3rd floor. If you are looking for a conventional hotel in Gettysburg (while I don't recommend a conventional hotel), this is probably your best bet, considering that the hotel is actually ON the battlefield (surrounded on 3 sides). The beds were warm, the food was decent, the staff were great, and while I probably won't remember that, I will definitely remember the time I spent on the battlefield, and I think this hotel helped with that. I still recommend staying at a local inn, but that's not everyone's speed, so best Western is a safe bet.

  The hotel itself was clean and managed very well. The staff was extremely friendly and nice. The only time they were unable to accommodate us during the stay was, we got pizza to go from a local shop and they wouldn't allow us to get a free plates from the breakfast room. Other than that, the staff was helpful. The room was big and comfortable, the bathroom was a decent size and very clean. The beds, to my boyfriend and I, we're hard and not comfortable at all, so we didn't sleep as well as we could have. My kids slept fine and said their bed was comfortable. Either way the stay was fun and the hotel is in a great area!

  Nice rooms, courteous staff, high rates. Stayed in many other places in town, this is the nicest. Price is the only reason for the four stars.

  Hands down, the very best place to stay in Gettysburg!! Granted, I was there for the offseason so I had a really great rate but I was blown away when I walked into my room and saw how huge it was with a king-size bed and a sleeper sofa. Not to mention a microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator! And clean does not begin to describe this place. It was absolutely immaculate. I didn't want to leave. Breakfast was very nice. Whether you wanted hot food (and you could prepare your own waffles or pancakes and they had scrambled eggs, sausage) or yogurt, bagels, several kinds of juices and coffee, there's no way that you could not find something to like about their breakfast. The associates where the most friendly I encountered on my trip and Best Western is to be commended for the wonderful people they have working here. I highly recommend this Best Western to anyone traveling to Gettysburg. You will not be disappointed. And might I add, it's within walking distance to Pickett's Charge so basically it's right at the edge of the battlefield!
