“I took the Country Roads Excursion tour at the new Bird-in-Hand location. I went with a friend and there were 2 other couples on the same tour that had gone on a tour at the Strasburg location last year. The tour was great. I grew up and live in Lancaster County, so I’m pretty familiar with the area, but got to see a whole other side of the local area. On our three hour tour we stopped by an Amish woodworking shop, an Amish roadside stand with canned goods, a goat farm with a homemade cheese shop, an Amish woodworking shop and a working Amish dairy farm. The weather was perfect, the countryside was beautiful and we even ran across a herd of camels on a roadside farm! Our guide, Cookie, made the tour fun with lots of jokes and interesting facts about the area. I had never driven a scooter before, and she had me feeling safe and comfortable in just a few minutes during the training time before the tour. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to tour the Lancaster area and/or experience the Amish culture. Definitely better than your standard tour experience.”

“I live approximately 15 minutes from Labadie Looms. I took my first lesson in weaving because a friend wanted to try weaving and I was hooked. Since then I have purchased a rigid heddle loom, a stand, spinning wheel, various accouterments, and yards and yards of wonderful hand-spun and/or hand dyed fibers. Donna, the owner, is the scion of generations of weavers. She is knowledgeable, personable and more about making a customer happy making a sale. (The reason she has a successful niche shop and the reason I have come back time after time.) If you're anywhere near and love the fiber arts, please do yourself the favor of stopping in. L.R. “We had a great weekend here. Room 3 was perfect for us it had a large living room that worked well since my wife goes to bed before me. Bathroom was very clean, room clean. Very quiet in this old mansion too. Breakfast was great the bar had bagels, muffins, danish, fruit, sticky buns cereals oatmeal and granola so plenty on that for us and they made one morning waffles with ham and the other eggs any way we wanted with bacon and biscuits. Overall it was a fantastic relaxing stay, just what we needed. Will go back again for sure.”

“This place was awesome! We stayed for one night and booked the Ressler Suit and it was a great room. The hospitality was on point! There was an issue with our fireplace and the maintenance man was very quick and nice to fix the issue. This set the standard of B&B through the roof for me.”

“The new location in Bird-in-Hand is in an old two-story house....cute but definitely not easy to navigate if you have difficulty with steps. They carry nice yarn and have lots of interesting samples for ideas. Their former location was convenient from my work and home...the new place won't be but should attract tourists.”
