I-95 Park

Address: Philadelphia, PA 19106, USA

Park

“Beautifully maintained park in memoriam of the Irish potato famine, and the wave of immigration it caused, shaping the city of Philadelphia. The bronze statue is stunning and a sight to be seen by those with Irish heritage and every person with an immigration story in their family tree. Both the Irish and American flags are maintained quarterly by charitable organizations and private contributors. A must see ceremony takes place each saint Patrick's day.”

Address: 400 S Taney St, Philadelphia, PA 19146, USA

Park

“Love ???? the fact that the playing apparatus is under trees. I like that I don't have to worry about their skin and the sun. It has two areas, one for the medium sized kids (roughly 3 and up) and one for little tykes (3 and under). There is a dog park nearby that can be viewed from the ground or the ramp leading to the river walkway. The kids found this just as exciting as the playground.???????? Major breakdowns when it was time to leave. ????”

Fitler Square

Address: Philadelphia, PA 19103, USA

Park

“This is a lovely park! However, NOT AT ALL DOG FRIENDLY!!! Many signs directing people to keep dogs "off the grass for the health and safety of children." Should you ignore the signs, one of the many parents playing with their kids will tell you to "take your dog to the dog park a few blocks away." I've lived in the neighborhood for 14 years, with my dog(s), don't bother doing anything with your dog but sitting quietly on a bench or strolling through, no one minds either of those. Again, lovely place, just not for your dog to romp.”

Irish Memorial

Address: 100 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19106, USA

Park

“Beautiful sculpture depicting the Irish famine known as The Great Hunger. Many of the Irish boldly took to the seas to travel to America in hopes of finding a better chance at life and opportunities. The statue is quite poignant and the artist did a fantastic job depicting both the face of burden and celebration among pride. I hope to update this review with additional photos of all sides of the sculpture. There is much more to this work.”

Monk's Dog Run

Address: 2879-, 2899 E Allegheny Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19134, USA

Park

“Considering this was a run down, empty lot that was fixed up by local citizens, this place is great! It's not a dog park that was created by some local organization, or even the local government. This is simply an empty lot that was cleaned and fixed up by local dog-lovers! That being said -- it certainly has its ups and downs, like any dog park. Sometimes there will be super friendly people and dogs there, and other times you might encounter a person or dog that is not so friendly. But this is the case at ANY dog park!!!! Dog owners need to be aware of these things at any dog park in the city, and must always be alert. One thing I really hope they accomplish in the future is a small dog section. Port richmond is home to many different types of dogs, and my tiny dog is one who is often scared to be around very big, high-energy dogs. I know that this is not really possible at the moment, due to the 95 expansion project, but one day I hope to see a small dog section! Port Richmond is a very dog-friendly neighborhood, and I really appreciate the people in this neighborhood who worked hard to create a safe, enjoyable space for our pups. Keep up the awesome work!!”
