“I have worked in this building for about 10 years for their rehab team. It is an older building and it has in the past have some challenging cases, but compared to other facilities I choose to stay here. It’s an intimate setting, the staff work as a family unit to do the best they can do to work together to provide the residents needs. The resident appreciate the family style environment. The most challenging aspect of this job is the staffing being limited after the pandemic. I have done occupational therapy here close to 10 years or more, now I am their rehab director. I enjoy the rehab team and the staffing. I love that I can approach the staff and bring new ideas to light to promote options quality of life to our residents. I will continue to thrive on that each and every day! The pandemic has made things so difficult, different transitions happened, but our building is a building and that keeps working toward bringing the best we can. If someone asked me to work for a 4 star building that looks pretty, but has a stale environment or unapproachable staff I’d say no and prefer to work in the old building with smiling faces and approaching staff.”
