“I moved to la in 2004 after being raised in a car family so I never had to find my own service prior to that. I had an old Saab convertible and fully intended to drive it till it died. I can’t even recall how I found Anders and Swedecar, but I have never had such a good experience with a mechanic and I stayed with him until my Saabs both retired (which was years ago, but driving by the other day reminded me of Swedecar and made me want to share a review). Anders was an expert mechanic and a wonderful human being. His work was flawless and he was the most honest person you can imagine - always direct about the problems my car was facing and always quoted fair prices. I lament the retirement of my Saabs because I wish I had a trusted mechanic for my new make of car. Truly if you have a Saab (or Volvo I assume though I never had one), Anders is a G-dsend. “I discovered Milbert's several years ago after some bad experiences with the local retail chain shops. So far, they've proven themselves to be quite knowledgeable, honest, and customer-focused. They're familiar with electric vehicles, and they handled the servicing of our 2014 Nissan Leaf's brake rotors quite well (winter of 2019-2020, I think). An issue arose with the parking brake afterward, but they were upfront about what happened (cable routing was shifted a bit during service, which decreased the applied tension) and they quickly fixed things up at no extra cost. My parents have been using them for a few years as well, with good experiences so far. The only downside to being good at what they do is that it's sometimes difficult to get an appointment on short notice. I guess they're doing something right if their problem is that they have too many customers. I had my Bolt EV inspected there earlier this month, and it was the first time I've seen their lot without any double-parked cars. I guess the pandemic eased their workload a bit, so I'd say take advantage of good service without the crazy backlog while it lasts.”
