“The Blue Thistle is wonderful Great hosts that make you feel welcome! The food was wonderful. The room I stayed in was clean, charming, and comfortable! I will stay there next year when I go to the Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival! I highly recommend the Blue Thistle!”

“Very spacious sites. It was quiet that weekend. The ground is flakey rocks so if u tent camp bring an extra layer of tarp to protect your tent floor.”

“Nice, super quiet. You can pay cash which is nice. Rooms were clean & comfortable. I brought an extra pillow. No bed bugs like previous reviews. I was very satisfied. Wasn’t bothered by housekeeping or anything during my stay. Even let me get the room again on short notice.”

“Very nice hotel! Clean, quiet, comfortable. Convenient location. The biggest shower I've ever seen. Has a nice outdoor seating area. The breakfast bar had a vast selection, but nothing hot, and not much protein. (I came late, there may have been some earlier.) Sheetz is next door though, and several other restaurants are nearby. That's a very trivial complaint, though, and I had a lovely overnight stay.”

“Springhouse Apartments is a great place to live! Each of the apartments is a 2-bedroom unit, and because each building is an 8-plex, all apartments are a corner of their respective building, which affords a nice feeling of space and privacy from other tenants. The units have private entrances, very high ceilings (at least on the 2nd floor), a spacious feel, and lots of beautiful natural light. A big boon is that Springhouse is pet-friendly; I have my own cat, and I see many dog-walkers around the property. The central air conditioning is very handy, and as a Canadian unused to the heat and humidity of southeastern PA it was very necessary for me! Neighbors in this area are extremely quiet (they tend to be professionals and/or older tenants), and I never heard a peep in all the time I lived here. Quiet area in general; you'll hear some traffic from Main Street, and the occasional groundskeepers/landscapers from Springhouse and surrounding properties, but aside from that it's a relatively peaceful place to live. Tons of parking spaces, and a convenient stop for the 93 SEPTA bus (albeit not the most frequent bus) mere steps away. Walking distance heading eastward to the Trappe Tavern, Dairy Queen, and a strip mall (a tad further away, maybe 10-15 min walk) which contains a Dollar Tree, True Value, Hair Cuttery, and other useful stores. Reasonable walking distance to Ursinus College (20-25 min; I did it twice a day, every day). Driving 5-10 min westward (you'll need a vehicle or to hop on the bus, because the sidewalks disappear and walking isn't the safest) is another strip mall with a Giant Food Store, Target, Staples, and all the other big box stores you'll need. All of that speaks to an overall very convenient location. Finally, Mike Lockyer is fantastic property manager! If I ever needed anything, he would respond very quickly; on the one occasion during my entire tenancy that he needed to enter my apartment on a PECO (gas/electric)-related matter, he provided plenty of advance notice. Seriously, if you need to relocate to Trappe, Collegeville, or surrounding areas, this is the place you want to live. UPDATE: I just wanted to say that 3 years later, this review holds up 100% In my time since leaving Springhouse Apartments, I've lived in a) a penthouse "luxury" apartment that had ongoing roof leakage all over my living room, and b) a poorly-maintained house with owners living 200 miles away and neighbors who blast ghetto music at all hours of the day. Truly, I never had a single issue -- not even a minor one -- in the year that I lived at Springhouse! I often think about it and wish I could have taken the apartment complex with me, because I doubt I'll ever find a place as good as that again. I hope prospective tenants read this review and take it to heart -- you won't be disappointed!”

“Loved staying here! The bath houses are close, and clean. The campground is beautiful, and the cabins are nice! If you’re staying in the cabins bring a fan with you as some of the windows don’t have screens in them! Perfect location to all things/activities Ohiopyle”

“Super quiet campground located at Keystone state park. The only negative is that the water is not drinkable. The sediments stained our ceramic toilet and shower brown. We couldn't even give the water to our dogs, else they'd get sick. We had to get the five gallon jugs from Walmart for all of us to drink. We could use the "tap" water for showers and dishes and laundry but even then, we didn't like it. The monthly rate wasn't too bad at all considering the water problem. Electric, sewer and water were all inclusive. The park owners were very kind. And the park kitties were super cute! Lots of beautiful wildlife around, too: groundhogs, pheasants, deer, raccoons and bears! Close to Latrobe (about 15 minutes).”

“My mom lives here. It's a very good neighborhood and the park manager makes sure to keep the tenants informed. You have to buy a trailer, whether it's one in the park or one you want to bring in. All you pay is lot rent and utilities. They are very welcoming and it is in an amazing school district.”

“Stayed at Hummingbird Guest Nest on 8/17/18 with my son. Easily made day-of arrangements over phone with Smitty, the affable owner. Perfect set-up for 2-3 person kayaking group. (Possibly more than 3?) Full kitchen area, living room area, and 3 bedrooms (not sure but possibly all Queen-sized beds). Bathroom with shower. Rack for hanging rinsed-off boating gear. Porch. Fire ring (which we will use on our next visit.) Spic and span clean. Non-smoking. Endearing photos of raft-guiding son. Reasonable pricing. Located on Blaine Street which is up the hill (up Sheridan Street) from the Falls Market Restaurant and Inn located at the intersection of Route 381 and Sheridan Street in "downtown" Ohiopyle. Overall impression? Could not ask for more given the ample space, cleanliness, price, and location.”

“The venue was excellent for a baby shower - 50 people! The owners were very kind, accommodating, flexible and always followed up in a timely manner! Pricing was reasonable as we did our homework prior to reserving (comparing other venues). We would definitely utilize the space for future events! Tons of character (warm vibe with all the lights). 5 of 5 STARS!!!!”

The main house and grounds were beautiful, clean, and well maintained. The breakfasts were amazing! Regarding breakfast, I'd like to say more... but.... let's let that be your extremely pleasant surprise. We enjoyed every moment of our two day stay.”

“We will definitely be coming back, they were very nice and welcoming to our group of 4. Our site has a gorgeous view and nice large cleared area for our 2 tents. And the privacy is even better! Finally found a campground you can enjoy instead of constantly hearing neighbors or having a bunch of people walk past you. Highly recommend!”
