“Small but beautiful self-guided Japanese house. However they do have guides on the premises that make it an even better experience! I liked Candice especially. She was very thorough and seemed to have a personal interest in the culture itself, which showed while explaining areas of the house. I would definitely visit again. Pics attached are of the bath, toilet area, tearoom and the grounds.”

West Fairmount Park

“Really nice, enjoyable park to stroll through. Parking can be a pain, but has something for everyone from leisurely strolls to a little bit of hiking (not much) and a playground. Looks like there are snack places but they weren't open when I went.”

Stone Gazebo

Address: Avenue of the Republic, Philadelphia, PA 19131, USA

Park

“Very nice old weathered stone Gazebo in the path of Cherry Blossoms. The gazebo has been around since the Centennial Worlds Fair May 10, 1876 it is still in standing condition. There are some letters you can see but are hard to make out. It’s still a beautiful piece to check out. Everyday that passes by this Gazebo is eroding away until one day it will not exist. So go see it!!”

Mann Recreation Center

Address: 3201 N 5th St, Philadelphia, PA 19133, USA

“The park itself is great. They've actually been extending and modernizing it. The new playground is not finished yet but already beautiful. Now the rec is a different story I've know this rec since I was small I've gone to summer camp here and it hasn't changed. The staff knows nothing and is nonchalant about getting you info or really helping.. the boxing coach is arrogant, mean, too fat, and too lazy to see himself in the mirror. Voting went well here. I lived across the street for a while so yes it's true sometimes the bums and crackheads take over at times”

Caledonia State Park

Address: 101 Pine Grove Rd, Fayetteville, PA 17222, USA

Park

“Beautiful park with lots to offer. Swim in the pool, play in the creek, have a picnic at one of many tables all along the creek. You can stay close to the commotion or venture further for a little peace. Lots of camping, which is also a good place for a walk or bike ride. Playground for kids is great, lots of room. Perfect place for friends or family, large groups or small. Pavilions available as well. Numerous hiking trails around the park. Some are just an easy stroll while others are a major hike with part of the Appalachian trail running through. Venture further north on route 233 to find much more hiking spots. They keep the park nice and clean, which is great. There is ample parking throughout, and they host events. The visitors center provides maps, which is nice for hiking. Really nice park for locals or travelers that is super conveniently just off of Route 30.”

Hosack Run Campground

Address: Hosack Run Campground Rd, Fayetteville, PA 17222, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“3rd time camping here. Sites are a little tight, but we weren't bothered once by anyone, including rangers. If you need space for more than 1 tent, I suggest getting a site on the outer edge so you can go further into the woods, instead of being isolated to the small plots. The bath house is fair. Hot water, and space to get cleaned up. Dish washing sink on the outside was up and running too. Fire pit was good and allowed for some level grate cooking. We don't look for any amenities except land and isolation, so it was fine.”
