“My son is 14 and just completed his annual physical yesterday. Dr. Parra is very pleasant and takes the time to discuss any questions or problems. He talked about my son's weight problem without any judgment. He discussed possibilities of diabetes due to eating habits, lack of exercise and weight gain. I left the room for the examination and Dr. Parra discussed sexual diseases that are rampant among teenagers with my son. After the exam, he called me back into the room and had the same discussion with me present. Even though we have had the sex talk with our son, I am glad that Dr. Parra is open to discussions with him. Sometimes a teenager will feel more at ease discussing certain things with his doctor rather than his parents. It is better for him to hear factual information rather than some of the stuff teenagers tell each other. I do agree it is a pain in the rear to make appointments. The calls do not go directly to the doctor's office. Their is a receptionist that makes appointments for the whole complex. She is not always friendly. The doctor's personal receptionist is friendly and helpful. In fact, I had asked her if there was any way to call the doctor's office directly. She said unfortunately, there was not. Update: 10/16/17 My son had blood drawn for testing. Dr. Parra called me himself to give me the results. My son had a Vitamin D deficiency and he called the prescription in. Great service.”
