The home was beautiful with the most wonderful gardens all around the home. They were very welcoming hosts which just made the entire stay feel like a home away from home. “Not a bad ride. Was pretty short and slow, though. Our guide was nice. No option to ride faster or anything. Horses seemed decently-trained, but not great. One (Comanche, I think his name was) was extremely slow and we kept having to stop and wait for him to catch up. I think this is best suited for first-time riders and those who like riding slowly. Wouldn’t highly recommend for people who want to go at their own pace.”

“Donna is a miracle worker! She did my hair and makeup for my engagement pictures. She took my vintage vision and took it to the next level. She was was able to give me two distinct looks - one look was short hair, and mid way through the session, I pulled the pins out and had a long haired look. My makeup was flawless and lasted in the texas heat for hours and was still spot on for my date that night. She’s talented, professional, and so creative. You cannot go wrong with Donna.”

“A group of us stayed at Canyon Lake Retreat. There were deer at this location every night! In the mornings it was very relaxing. We also made s'mores at night. The beds were very comfortable, and everything was fully stocked. The house also had extra bedding and pillows to make you more relaxed. There are a lot of activities to do in the area. Guadalupe State Park is great for camping, kayaking, hiking, and swimming. Overall, this is a great, quiet location to stay at while on vacation.”

“While staying in Canyon Lake area for the summer we wanted to try some good seafood. We love the Boiling Pot in Rockport and found this place just North of Hancock area of the lake. They've really spruced up the place since the last reviews 3 years ago. My husband and I got the Shrimp boil pot. We can eat and this filled us up! $22.95 for a pound of huge gulf shrimp, potatoes, sausage, corn and sourdough bread. We should've ordered the medium spice, my husband likes spicy but I can't take the heat. The key lime and banana pies were also delicious!! The staff (all family of the owner) is super friendly. They are open from 5-9 and it's byob. We will be going back!!”

“If you haven’t been to this side you must. Soo much space in different parts of the island. You can pull up and park in front of the tables and reverse a little down the hill to make it easy for unpacking. We were on the top of a rock island which was nice and glad there wasn’t a cluster of people bunched up (my fav). Plenty of swimming room but not much shade. Water starts shallow and has a lot of rock but once you swim out it’s deeper and get plenty of waves from the boats going by and jet skies. Pin this spot next the other side gets packed to early. You’ll still be able to get in on the other side. You also have to pay but it’s just the same amount.”

“Moved to Canyon lake in November and have been looking for a church. Today was our first time here. Not many people but pastor said a lot were out. Sermon was on piont. Loved the way Pastor broke it down. The people that were there were nice and friendly. Looking forward to coming back.”

“St. Thomas is a wonderful church! We grew up going there as kids and have always loved it. Our family went to weekly mass there from the time I was a baby, and they had open air mass! They had speakers in the trees, and you just got out of the car for communion. I’m so glad it’s grown into such a thriving community.”
