“Great hospitality! Justin was very friendly. He was very welcoming and the home was very clean and inviting. The view from our room was beautiful. Justin gave my husband and I lots of ideas for great things to do in the area. He made delicious breakfast each morning and tidied up the room during the day. Great location with lots to do. We look forward to being able to go back soon for another mini vacation. Highly recommend for a romantic couples getaway.”

“This B&B is very cozy and very close to everything in Gruene! Our host David was exceptionally accommodating! He provided a great fresh breakfast every morning. He even surprised my wife and I with wine in our room as well as lemon iced cake for dessert. We stayed in the Clock Haus which was small yet cozy. We slept on a pull out couch bed which wasn't the most comfortable but it did the trick. We were able to see the other properties: Pharmacy, Main House, Log Cabin. We would definitely recommend the Log Cabin for a nice romantic getaway away. “Michelle is such a great host and was super accommodating with an early check-in request. We loved the little guide book that they had in the house that gave great recommendations for nearby activities, groceries, and restaurants. The location is perfect with plenty to do nearby and is close enough to San Antonio for a day in the city. Even though there are multiple rental properties on-site, you still feel super secluded and can enjoy some quiet time. Our dog loved the house and running around the property taking in all the fresh air! The house itself is so clean with up-to-date appliances and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The hot tub was perfect, I think we used it at least once every day of our stay! We love this place and will definitely be back many more times!!”

“Lazy H Lodge is simply the perfect stay. We just left after a week's stay and cannot speak highly enough of this property. We had come in for a wedding and had family from around the country fly in to stay as well. It was perfectly located between Austin and San Antonio, allowing for everyone to make the best airline choice for them. In hill country and near canyon lake, the location was perfect. The house itself exceeded all expectations. Open, comfortable, designed to bring people together. The kitchen was very well equipped, beds comfy and plenty of linens. The hosts, Rex and Kathy, were tremendous and went out of their way to make our stay exceptional. We can't wait to visit again.”

“It's a time share so you're not checking in without a little pressure...but it ends there (unless you take the bribe and presentation). Very nice units on the backside across the street from main compound. From my back patio, 30 feet across grass to the nice pool/hot tub one way and 30 ft another to grill and picnic table or another to playground. Each day we saw more bugs...mostly in the kitchen...but we bought a can of spray and stayed on top of it. Great spa tub in the bedroom. Great size dining/living area, full kitchen. Parking and trash containers in front of condo. Nice little town, super market JUST up the road, plenty of good eateries. Game room and Grille on site. Good area for Pokemon Go :)”

“Picked a bad spot I guess. Port-o-potty was for about 25 people and was a walk. Wasn't serviced Saturday so couldn't use it and had to go uphill across the street. Showers are also across the street. Apparently there are showers on site but were not walking distance from our site. No trash cans around. Had to drive it to the dumpster. River was awesome.”

“We had a wonderful stay at the Gruene Hotel & Retreat! We stayed in the Cozy Cabin room the first night and had to move rooms the second night because they didn’t have consecutive rooms available due to my last minute booking. They were super accommodating and helpful. We were able to just switch our stuff over right across the hall. The place itself is so cute and cozy. The beds and pillows are awesome - very comfy. BREAKFAST - AMAZING!!! Love it! We will be back.”

“My wife and I enjoyed a weekend getaway there and had a great stay. We enjoyed hanging out on the back patio and wading in the river. In the evening we took a short walk to a local venue for a Willie Nelson concert. The next day I was up early fly fishing and caught a monster trout. Only downside was the weekend wasn't long enough. We will be back!”
