Love this place I just graduated from there today. When I started I came with a c5 spinal cord injury with no hopes or information to go off of. Let's just say I am now standing and doing car transfers all on my own. This place is very clean an the staff are super nice Jessica and Paula are by far my favorite nurse's of all times. We can't forget the director Dani-Bree when I say she embrace me with such love and care I almost cried today I had to fight the tears back. This place was great for me and I was out patient, inpatient was even better. We did out in the community outing and cooking classes it was amazing. They have counselor, in-house chef, and a specialist in sound treatment which was a first but was amazing. I have so much stuff I want to say but we would be here all day what are you waiting for go check this place out ASAP.

My Dad suffered a massive stroke in June 2021. My siblings and I were rapidly realizing the increased level of care and rehab my dad would need to give him the best chance at any level of quality of life. Although stroke recovery outcomes vary , and the recovery is one step at time with no guaranteed outcome, NeuroRestorative has been there for my dad and for us each and every step. The quality of person that pursues a profession in occupational to physical therapists and their needed support staff are truly god sent. And the staff at NeuroRestorative are no different. Their commitment to my dad has been remarkable, far beyond a professional level. Even when insurance was causing a particular hectic transition for my dad, both Dani-Bree Bialek, Program Director in Garland and Christina Purcell, Executive Director for Texas stepped up to provide us options that provided much needed peace of mind.

I was inpatient at this location for two and a half months. I came in (for lack of a better technical term) a “hot mess”. I was unable to transfer myself from my bed to the wheelchair or bedside commode or even dress or care for myself. I was previously working in senior care and was initially awkward being the one on the receiving end. The care staff was amazing at making me comfortable and always seeing to my needs. The therapy staff was incredible and made therapy fun to where you wanted more. It was intense yet so beneficial. I was able to be discharged walking out of there on a walker ready for the next chapter of outpatient care. I couldn’t be more appreciative of the staff for giving me my life back and making it okay to be an hour away from my family.

After sustaining a stroke mid-operation during my most recent craniotomy, I initially wasn't able to move my left arm, leg, elbow, knee, fingers, or toes at all. I then spent the next 3 weeks post-op recovering in the hospital, undergoing a light therapy regiment there before being transferred to Neuro Restorative. At this point, I had regained enough functionality in my left leg to utilize a hemi-walker for short durations and enough strength in my left arm to push myself from a lying position up to a sitting position. However, the diminished leg stamina persisted, and I still could not lift my left arm. Furthermore, my left hand was stuck as a fist without manipulation from the right one (was unable to form an open palm unless I forced it open using my right hand). The amazing wonderful therapists at Neuro Restorative helped me to overcome these remaining challenges and many more.

I may never neurologically return 100 percent to my pre-stroke self, but after having spent a little under four months here as an inpatient, I at least left feeling 1000 times stronger and more capable than I did the night I arrived. Some stroke survivors regain hardly any power back. Thus, I consider myself to have been quite lucky that Neuro Restorative helped me restore as much of my neuro functionality as it did, and that the facility truly did live up to its name.

Were there a few nurses or CNAs working here who weren't the easiest to get along with? Potentially. Were there a few meals served here that would make Gordon Ramsay go on a verbally censored rampage? Maybe. Were there a few days in which the temperature in certain parts of the building was too darn high, namely the gym and the bedroom I was assigned? Perhaps. I mention these nitpicks not to discourage you from coming here for your neuro rehab needs. But rather, I'm just saying, despite these few imperfections of the facility that existed at least at the time of my stay here, my positive overall experience and end result outweigh these ultimately minor-in-comparison cons by far.

Each and every single therapist I worked with here genuinely cared about my progress and did everything in their power to help me improve. The administrative staff and majority of nurses & CNAs also helped to make my experience here a pleasant one overall. So... want a facility with more to give? Come on down to Neuro Restorative!
