This was my first experience for Acupuncture and it made me a believer.
I spent the weekend helping family move. I pulled or strained a muscle in my back around my left shoulder. I could not raise my arm up with out pain. I managed a week with Motrin with no relief. Dr Liu talked with me for 20 minutes or so about where the pain was, how it happened and so forth. Dr Liu told about placing the needles and that they are very small. I can't tell you how many he used, because I never felt anything more than some finger taps in different places. He said I would need at least two visits within a couple of days, sometimes more are needed. He explained that pain does not move, you treat that area and the next prevalent area of pain is noticable. He said I should walk out feeling better, which I did with more arm mobility and only a third of the pain I walked in with. I think I fell asleep on the second visit, it sure didn't seem like 45 minutes. I was about 98 percent when I walked out of the second visit.
