“My oldest is now 12. We moved here in 2010. Which he started kindergarten. It was a battle at first. Due to his health issues (adhd) i had a few battles with teachers. I made frequent visits etc. Threw out the years the entire school grew to know my son and I just like we grew to know the staff. It was tough. 1 teacher out of all teachers had no compassion with dealing with kids who has a hyper issue. She was always looking for the worst. If i could remember her name i would make it known. Anyway, due to the adhd it was keeping him from being focused. I worked hard on getting the right Medication. Years go by. 3 rd grade came n my son had a teacher by the name of Stephanie Majors. She was very compassionate, and understanding. She took out her time and worked with him to get him at the level he needed to be regarding reading, writing and math. I can truly say shes an Angel of God. Now that years as passed and everyone has grown to know each other the staff ALWAYS manage to control his anger, give nothing but positive remarks, and helped him in anyway they could. Well, he never did past the STAAR test. And a few teachers and myself didnt understood why bc he had improved successfully. With the help of support, love, and caring the teachers that knew him gave him so many pointers on passing the test. Well in 5 th grade he was the only person who read the most books during the time it was a Reading Challenge going on. He was given a 10speed bike for his hard work! Not only that he passed the STAAR test for the very first time!!! Mr, Green and Mrs. Tyler has a beautiful staff and I truly look at them as family. This school has made a big impact on my son. Its a few teachers there i have grown very close too. No matter what the situation maybe everyone always held a calm, positive and encouraging outlook of situations..good and bad. Now my 6 year old is attending and I don't have to make several trips like i were before bc i know my little one is in GOOD HANDS! SORRY SO LONG BUT I HAD TO GIVE A LIL TASTE OF MY EXPERIENCE WITH EICKENROHT ELEMENTARY. Even through the tough times in the beginning i dont regret enrolling neither one of my boys into this school.
